Thank you all for the advice.  I think the protein shakes might be a great idea, and mixing 1/2 milk and water might also be a really good idea.  Going to try to put this in place through this week and see how it goes for me.

I am just SO frusterated but I also know I can do this (a day at a time of course).

My day so far today has been.......better.  I DID have carbs with both meals, but not like Ive been having.

B - 1/2 slice rye toast, egg
S - coffee wilk milk, 1 slice b.f. ham deli meat
L - 1/2 c. Tuscan bean soup, 2 soda crackers :(

I've been reading a helpful book, 50 Ways to Soothe Yourself without Food" by Susan Albers. I am reading it at that same time as a dear friend so we can discuss it during our Sunday calls (we live in different states). We are on Chapter 3 which has useful suggestions on how to reduce the stress and anxiety that leads to emotional eating. You might want to check it out. I know it is not easy to break the carb habit but the fact that you are posting shows strength and commitment.

Hi Liz,

I have to agree with you and everyone else about the shakes. Last Monday I committed to going low carb and I really think that the two shakes a day made it much easier. I have had a horrible time finding a shake that I like, but now that I have it is all good.

I am getting in plenty of protein and the shakes also resulted in increasing my liquid intake and I have stayed <20g of carbs per day.

I did manage to lose this week which was a huge motivator also. I found that by making myself accountable to the daily food thread that I am very aware of what I am putting in my mouth. These things are working for me for now, good luck in finding what works for you.
