The stall over passing the budget, that is. I'm glad they finally got their heads out of their butts, but still what a mess! Why can't everyone be an Independent? lol  I'm sure that wouldn't work either but it does seem that the 2 parties have been taken over by extremists and the media loves it and constantly fans the fire.

So, what are your plans for today?

Today's To-do list....

take the dogs to the groomer
groceries
dry cleaners
clutter control
clean the bathrooms
vacuum
laundry
schedule carpet cleaning
tanning
pick up the dogs
watch the Masters

OMG your day has me tired already!!!

I am going to my son's school Carnival, where I will man the woodworking room. 9-4pm.
My son is leaving with my friend to go to her son's birthday party at 12noon and after the Carnival I get to go over there hang out for an hour, THEN, my little eight year old has another birthday party for a boy in his class until 930pm. I will drop him off and then to go home to dinner with my hubby.  I already cooked, so re-heating is all needed.

He is going to have a great day!

Do you remember the days (when we were kids) and the President was on TV?  We'd all run and flock around the TV to see what he had to say.... now when he comes on, we want to see what channels AREN'T covering him....

Wow - you have a LOT planned... doesn't leave much for tomorrow does it?  hehe

We had a power outage yesterday that covered a huge area.  I want to know why my atomic clock resets and hour later than it is?  Do they have pre-programmed DST dates in there?  I thought it took the time from Denver, knew what time zone you are in, and did it that way...

Of course I can't remember what the "old" DST dates were....

2 lbs is the damage while on vacation.  Not too bad since I lost 2 lbs before we left... back on the protein shake wagon today.  I haven't had one since we went shopping last week - that's real bad of me - I've NEVER gone that long before.  But one thing I've got to say about it, I've been quite "regular" without them.

The potential shut down had me so angry, it was all I could do to temper my political views at work.  I hate political discussions because it polarizes people, and I had really strong views on the problem.  I came just short of standing on my soapbox to express my views.

I've been so tired lately, the only thing I planned for today was sleeping in.   I had my 3 month checkup just a few weeks ago, and my bloodwork was good, but my thyroid levels weren't checked.  I suspect my thyroid is low again.  I'm trying to figure if I should wait another 6 weeks for that to be checked as scheduled or whether to request a checkup early.

It'll finally be warm here this weekend, and I can't wait to wear my flip flops.

Gina, glad to hear things are a tiny bit more stable in D.C. What a mess!

Today, I am hitting a garage sale with my aunt, then going to do a bit of shopping with my cousin. Picking up my race packet for tomorrow's half marathon. I'm super nervous about it. I only got in a 5 mile run this week and 13.1 miles seems daunting right now. WTH, I can walk if I have to! I also need to get my house in order....oh, and walk the pugs. They are lazy!

Yes, the stall is over but for how long...because they still have to pass the budget. And who knows if they'll agree on it.

There ought to be a law that says if a budget isn't passed by 1 Oct for the next fiscal year, then CONGRESS isn't paid until it does pass. Wonder how long it would take to get it passed then????? I suspect not more than a month. LOL

Anyway, today's to do list:
File paperwork that SEEMS to reach to the ceiling
Work on web sites

That will take most of the day.

I'll take your suggestion and raise you one.

If Congress can't pass a budget by 1 Oct, then Congress loses 2% of their annual pay for each week they don't.  So, if they wait til 31 Dec to pass a budget (and not just a continuing resolution), then they'd be losing 26% of their salary by then.

Seems the way it is now, the real losers are the American public. I always hate to hear how non-US folk outside the US talk about our politics. Makes me embarassed.

You're right, Tracey. I used to think that Europeans kind of laughed at us because they were jealous that the "Grand Experiment" might be working better than their systems, but now I think they think we are stupid to doggedly mix fundamentalist religious convictions with politics in this day and time.

Gina...I love your schedule, sounds like my kind of day! I just purchased another month unlimited of tanning a couple of days ago so I stopped in yesterday morning to ask them to put a hold on my package so I can return once my wounds have healed up. I'm sad about losing my tan!

I just registered for my summer and fall classes and i'm really excited to be taking an eastern religions class in the fall. this is alllll of the Homework that needs to be done by tomorrow night...i want to cry seeing it all written out! tryring not to take too much medication so i can stay awake to do all of this....

1. 6 pages of statistics
2. 3 page paper for political science (still not sure what i'm writing it on)
3. 5 page paper for english and reading 6 short stories and writing summaries for each!
4.. a research paper/project for a psychology class, was going to do it on body dysmorphia but i'm not really interested in it anymore and want to do something that the class can be involved with when i present that way they learn better/are more interested.
