You are so right.  It is a journey and hopefully we can enjoy at least most of it.  Love yourself.  The weight will come off.  Work your plan and it will happen for you.

Thanks for sharing your blog. You have made a good observation in our not living in the moment. It is something we often need to start being conscious of.

Keep on writing and sharing it'll be good for you and for us.

I agree!!
I love the traditional lenten foods and since they are mostly vegetables and bread..I have to limit myself and try to get Protein shakes in..which I don't like.
Today, I decided, oh well, so I don't lose too much weight this month.  Let me enjoy the foods of the season and not gain weight..
You see, if I don't then I will never learn how to eat these foods and instead of sugar, I'll start craving breads and lentils and rice with sauteed onions..
OH MAN..
Here I go on a tangent again.

Thank you for your blog...
OMG...I'm not the only one who knows I can get in more food then so many others say they can!
I keep wanting foods to eat that I can eat a lot of...and not feel like I'm overeating..
I can't wait for the day that I actually forget to eat..!!! All I do is think about food all day long..

My thoughts on craving those foods that you can eat a lot of is that we have all been brainwashed for so long by trying diet after diet. The old "weigh****chers" mentaility where eating lots and lots of carby low-cal foods is the way to go - like pretzels, crackers, veggies, etc. We are so used to filling up the gut.

I find I do eat more than a lot of ladies on here. I don't eat large quantities at a time, but I am a snacker. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I love tortilla chips, so I eat them. I make sure to scoop up a bunch of cottage cheese with each one, so that I get full quickly, but I do that every day. Often my dinner is cottage cheese and tortilla chips. I am not a creative cook, so I stick with basics and that works for me.

Helane  I get in a LOT more food too .    Funny  but over time  my pouch has actually  either shrank some or I just stopped stretching it out with my head hunger and insistence on  going back for more  ...

here are a few tricks  n tips

butter buds  and fat free promise make s  a VERY effective butter and fat substitute .

If Ure going to eat  good carbs , theyre fine as long as theyre fat free - the high fiber wont let U gain .
At least I don't gain eating like that  thank God .   Personally I would go NUTS  limiting food categories ...

ok i largely dont eat sugar  and fat   and white four if I can help it  but thats about it

have U tried protein tea and protein cofffee ?   I hated shakes before I tried those  too but the shakes really help  keep my appetite at bay .

I'm trying to like Protein shakes..I just find that 200 calories when I'm trying to eat 600-800 is a lot for a drink.. I still don't consider it a meal.. I will at some point.. I guess.
For example, I prefer to eat dry roasted edamame 135 calories because I feel like I'm eating something.. drinking doesn't do it for me yet.

Also, I was doing better with food and protein when it wasn't Lent, because I am giving up meat this time around, usually I abstain from meat, cheese, dairy, oil and fish.  After speaking to my doctor we decided that I would just give up meat, this has been easier but I just am needing to find more Protein sources.  DH doesn't really want me eating fish because of what's happening in Japan..I know, it's too soon to get it over here.. I was eating haddock for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. with a side of vegetables..and I also was feeling full.

Then..don't get me started on junk food..I so love ice-cream.. but it doesn't love me..even for a small bite..:(
