Changed my goal weight and thinking about plastics

I was aiming for 145 but I'm adjusting my 1st goal to reaching normal BMI (which is 154).

My 2nd goal is to get down to 145 just to give myself some bounceback room. My maintenance goal is too stay between 150-154...if the scale ever goes to 155, I will cut the carbs.

I can't believe my goal is getting so close!!...I may even do some plastics consults this summer. I want a TT for sure but want my weight and skin to settle so maybe surgery next March? I am pretty happy with how my skin is doing in other areas (the thighs are a little iffy)...I need to up my strength training to tone my arms and butt.

Wow!! I can't believe this is happening...the time has flown by!

Goals like everything in life need to be flexible.  So it sounds like setting a 1st and 2nd goal weight will work great for you.  On this site and with my doctor, I have 140 as my goal, but my unspoken goal is really like (shhhh... 132????).  See I've never been near that secret number in my adult life, so I can't say it out loud.  But "that number" would put me at a 22 BMI which is pretty much middle of the normal range.  Is that even possible?  We'll see I guess.

Please post about your plastics consults here.  Like many other folks, I'm also thinking about them too.  Not sure though, as I'm 50+ and don't know if it will be worthwhile.

Hi Cheryl, I was at 145 for about 2 seconds in my early 20s..LOL! I think 22 BMI is a great goal...I guess we all just have to see how we feel as the weight drops.

I will post as I go to the consults..and 50+ is the new 30!! I would go for it if it something you want. My mom had a tt 25 years ago and her results still look amazing! I had a breast lift 4 years ago and other than my rny it was the best thing I ever did for myself. A good plastic surgeon is a blessing from God IMHO :)

Great job working your tool!!

Definitely agree with Cheryl. It's nice to be able to adjust pur goals as our needs change. I too am getting closer to my goal and have to listen to my husband everyday telling me to stop losing. Today I am 172 (smaller then I can re-call when I was married at 21). My goal is 150 but my doctor thinks 160 will be better. At the moment, I exercise and enjoy a variety of foods without complication. Things are pretty effortless so I am in a happy place. I do want to see the low 160's and if things should stop I will still be forever grateful because I look and feel wonderful.

Good luck to you and your future WL success

Vixen...we are the same exact weight! I feel as you do...I have been able to enjoy the process, I enjoy my food and I feel pretty darn good where I am now :) That is the main reason I changed my goal. I can see another 15 coming off and maybe a few extra from a TT...but I want to keep a few curves too :)

Sounds like lots of us adjusting goals.  I just changed my ticker yesterday that said Goal reached.

My original was 140, which I honestly never really thought I would see, my surgoens was  130.  125 is the top on my normal BMI.  So I'm headed to somewhere around there.  We'll see where I end up.

My surgeon set my goal for 140 so I set mine to that also.  When I got to 140 I decided to go for a normal BMI goal and changed it to that.

It is good to have a plan and a maximum amount that you will not go over.  Congratulations on your success so far!!

Congrats Char on being so close to goal!!! the time really does fly by doesnt it?

I really need to change my goal weight from 110lbs. Now that I think about it, I didnt really care for the way I looked the last time I was 110lbs. Maybe the 110 could be a 2nd goal?

Goals are GOOD...they keep us on track!  My doctors goal is 130....it's also my personal goal because it's the weight that I was when I left for college (25 years ago!)  I remember feeling thin and healthy at that weight.

That being said, I have to technically be 127 to be at the very top end of NORMAL BMI....so that's my REAL goal....seems out of reach as I've been a really SLOW 6 week stall BUT this is point where I'll have to step up my game!
