OT: Budget BS

Bottom feeders!  All of them! Yes, that would be the media, in general, and politicians and their campaign managers specifically. Don't believe the media is unbiased or a politician has anybody's best interest at heart other than his own. That's all, just frustrated with the circus and its clowns.
    
  

Yep, they all want to posture and look good while blaming the other party.  And they all still get paid while joe blow gets the shaft.

Circus and clowns... A perfect description!!! We have the sam hooo ha here w our new Governor. The fun never ends w politics. Unfortunately.

I just hate being manipulated and that's exactly what the media and politicians have done to all of us. We're now 2 warring camps who can find no room for compromise. One minute sound bites don't give enough information and 3 hour explanations with multiple talking heads will make your eyes glaze over.

Oh man, I was on a 6 hour car trip yesterday and listened to talk shows during much of it. Yes, the rhetoric is disgusting. The whole thing was focused on the soldiers missing pay and the senate and house still getting there's. They are just working on getting the public all riled up by working on their emotions. The media is so manipulative. There is much, much more to all of this. Politicians are so corrupt and selfish too.

 Remember when Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite just REPORTED the news instead of pushing their own opinions?  Watching newscasters trying to instigate more trouble by arguing with the politicians is driving me nuts. The media spotlight (he spoke too much, not enough, too long, too short, tackled too many issues, not enough, etc.) is just fueiing the fire.

And since when did the color of a president's hair (whether you are a supporter or not) have ANYTHING to do with substance?

I love politics - but NOT the manipulative games that are going on.

We've turned to watching BBC news for a less biased presentation. Otherwise it's all about the agenda.

Back when I was in school to get my journalism degree so I could be an investigative reporter like Woodward and Bernstein (yeah, that was a looooong time ago),  I realized the whole "we're not biased" thing was going by the wayside when I saw how the Washington Post cropped an AP photo to support the whole Iran hostage situation thing.  The photo of 20 or so protesters in front of our embassy was cropped so that it looked like there were HORDES of people storming the gates. 

So when I realized the fifth estate was being torn down brick by brick, I switched to be an advertising major.  I figured if I was gunna be paid to lie, at least I wanted to lie in the ads, and not in the news.

For someone who works in conflict resolution on a regular basis, I feel the rhetoric of both parties is no where NEAR resolving the conflict yet.  Just scoring points and making more scars.
