sure, pretty much the same as the last time, but i used peach gelatin

1 packet gelatin, traditional is orange, but peach is great, as are most other flavors
24 oz container cottage cheese, I use 1%
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup shredded coconut, unsweetened ( i found reduced fat too!)
1 tub whipped topping (thawed)
1 can mandarin oranges, well drained
1 can crushed pineapple, well drained

mix gelatin mix (unprepared) into the thawed cool whip, it's fun and pretty. scoop into a large pan (I use half-pans for chafing dishes-- this makes a LOT) mix in the cottage cheese, stir well. Add everything else, mix well. Refrigerate for a couple hours and enjoy

Leave out the nuts if you can't handle them, you can also throw in some frozen fruits if you like, just to keep things interesting. I'll be getting some peaches and blueberries for my next batch. Used the oranges and pineapples this time, still very awesome

Great! I'm like a celebrity in there...

Except for my liver tests being high, he wasn't concerned about my lab work. A1C was 5.9 which is a little high but I'm on no meds and it used to be 10.8, he quickly got over it (I think it was 6.7 3 months ago, it's coming down steadily, YAY)

For him, I always have to wait, so I saw some people from support group, talked them, and talked to another lady who was pre-op. The bariatric coordinator thanked me profusely for talking to her (she's scared to get the surgery and backed out in January). We exchanged email addresses, I hope she follows through with learning more and making a firm decision either way.

They have my progression pictures on their corkboard, so EVERYONE there knows who I am. Sheri (the coordinator) said she gets a lot of people looking at the pictures and then looking at me in the office or at group and them asking if that's me (last picture on it was taken at 6 months, I'm now nearly 9).

They took my 9 month picture, the doctor assured me that I don't have to lose any more weight (I think he was paranoid by the malnourished patient he saw 3 ahead of me and didn't want to see me go there). I promised I was focusing more on toning now :) He's so pleased with my progress and while I was hanging out up front getting my lab slip for next time he told Sheri to take our picture together and then bragged about "perks of the job" to another patient. Cracked me up.

Surprisingly that office is great for my self esteem/ego, wouldn't think that in a bariatric center, wouldja?

Had an abdominal ultrashound this morning to see what is what with my liver. Hepatitis tests came back negative, and I have no gall bladder. They figured out 12 years ago I had a fatty liver, so top theory is that it's aggrevated by the rapid weight loss which happens. Rapid gain or loss will deposit fat on (in?) the liver, so if that's all it is, there's nothing they can do but wait it out (i totally typed that "weight" at first) and see if when I settle into my new size if it goes down. The PCP re-ran the test and it's lower than last month but still way high.

In the mean time, I'm super happy, mostly healthy, and life is good :)
