I'm in my 20s X Post
No, not my age. I wish. My weight is now 129. I never thought I would see the 120s again. My ultimate, too much to hope for goal weight is 120 to 125 and I am only 4lbs from the top range. I deliberately picked a lower range so I have bounce back room. With my first WLS I got down to 120lbs for about 5 minutes. Honestly, I don't think I even maintained that for a month when I started to regain. I guess there was always a part of me that hoped I could get that low again and maybe have a chance to get it right this time and learn about maintaining instead of expecting the surgery to magically keep me at that number without any effort on my part. So, like a lot of this journey, I have a second chance to learn from my mistakes and get it right this time.

Fantastic. You can see the number you seek just ahead of you. That should be motivation for sure to reach the lil'ol' 120.
Then the real work begins; maintaining your perfect goal weight. I know what you mean about second (and third, fourth and fifth) chances to learn how to get it right. I'm going to start counting my success, when I get to goal and maintain it. I too got to my goal before, but maintained it for about a week. I swear, this time I'm looking ahead to do battle with my goal weight month after month until my body accepts it. I know the big challenge is still ahead of me. Good luck to both of us.

Thanks. I don't know why I am nervous about maintaining. I do have some history in my past where I was a normal weight and maintained it for a while. Not a terribly long time, maybe a year or so but I know I can do it. And it was before the internet so I didn't track my food or anything like that. I remember I just ate 3 meals a day with nothing in between, no snacking, and I didn't eat any thing with sugar or flour in it. I didn't even weigh myself that often and when I did weigh myself I found that my weight stayed very stable. I know I can do it, I just don't know if I can do it long term. Don't have a good history there.

With weigh****chers back in the 80's, I got to goal which I think was 128 for about a month and part of that month I was having gall bladder surgery. Otherwise, I don't think I could have been there for that long. I stablized around 135 for a few more months then had to stop running because my hips were breaking down. That was the beginning of the end.
I am definately concerned about maintainance. I'm hoping that this time I really will learn what I need to do and do it. I am older, hopefully wiser and have lots of support here.
