4 mo. post op and all I can say is I have no energy for ANYTHING. And everyone I know can go _off.  I'm sick of everyone's personal problems being more important than mine and I can't even get up enough energy to tell them where to go lately.  No lab issue,s just need a break or a vacation that wont break me!! that's it. short and sweet!

Wow, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time.  I started feeling better when I got my D3 up, my fluids in and my protein.  If all of those are good, maybe you need some exercise to break your mood.  Even gentle yoga and meditation can improve your mood.  Do some visuallizations and imagine you are at the beach (mountains, etc).  Calgon, take it away.

You may be pissed and tired, but you're also funny!  I laughed my ass off - "everyone I know can go _ off."  I've felt exactly the same way at times.  OK to be pissed, too, and write about it here.

RNY on 11/29/10 with
I feel ya! It is hard to be there for others when you are feeling exhausted. I recharge myself with mini-treats: a mani with a ten minute massage, a walk with my IPOD in a conversatory (a shot of green foliage and flowers helps me this time of year), a steam bath in my friend's fancy bathroom, an old movie marathon, whatever works. I know, not the same as a vacation but they help to get me through the "I cannot take it" times.

I had my RNY about week before you. I am just starting to get my groove back, and I still have a ways to go. Hang in there. It will get better.

I'm taking extra D and it has helped with my energy.. I also feel a lot like you most of the time. It's hard to care even aboutdoing things I need to do..
Hope it goes away fast!!

I'm not having the energy issues, but I'm having the grumpies too!  I bit DH's head off this morning for no reason.  I recognized it quickly  and apologized.  Honestly, I'm not going to beat myself up over it, but I hate that I get like that.

You're not alone with grumpies etc.  So many people write about it.  Do any small things that you can to take care of yourself and make you smile.  Think of something that made you happy and smile over it.  They say that smiling really increases the endorphins inside.  I try to smile as often as possible.  Increase your happy thought time daily and see if you don't feel better.

I too needed a vacation and went away for 2 weeks at 4 months post op.  I was lucky enough to head to the South of France and walk around 125 miles in two weeks.  It made me feel completely human again.  Movement is an amazing thing for getting the body back into emotional balance.
