I look back on my pre-op pics and wonder why I didn't realize just how fat I was. Just call me the Queen of DeNile.  I started feeling really great when I went from a size 22/24 to size 16 capri's last summer.  For me that was a real turning point.

I do think that for me the biggest victories have come from being able to move my body and feel stronger and less hampered by fat in the things that I can do.

I still don't have that moment when I actually stop and take stock in the mirror. I do have it, and started having it about 3 months out, when I caught sight of myself in a mirror or window without knowing it was me.

I'm still self-critical, and likely always will be. I just hope it gets slightly less so as time goes on.

LOL, it truley took a while before I saw someone else. I think it does depend on how big we are pre-surgery and how much we have/want to loose. Another thing is how long have we been at a larger size.....

I lost 40 pounds and was saying "this scale must be broken I don't see a thing" Most people didn't notice till I lost 50 pounds and even then they were like....did you cut your hair, new clothes, etc....Silly people

Now at almost 75 pounds everyone is talking about it. I constantly see ppl I haven;t seen in a while and wow, they notice and for me it was only like at 60 pounds where I'd look and go wow, my arms and stomach are really small, lol. I really need to keep up with the weights cause loosing isn't everything if gravity is grabbing you by the horns

You will be fine. Give yourself time and you will see!
