Really bothers me....have a feeling this was aimed at me!
You know, I think your friend is right..for me, I never talked about food, but now that's all I do talk about.....
I have also noticed that people are different around me, but I think that if they were friends, then they will be there for me after they get over their hangups..
I am so lucky that the ladies in my church group are THERE for me in ways that I can't even discuss..
When I first got the surgery, it seemed like people were looking at me...What she hasn't lost any weight..what did they think the doctor was going to cut off fat from my body?? Now that I'm 35 pounds down..people are noticing and my "friends" notice and compliment me in small ways..unseen..and not in too loud a fashion..For example, when I'm working on making spinach pies.. I can tell that they see that I don't get as winded and smile... it makes me happy and not uncomfortable...
People will change and be uncomfortable with our changes but if they are real friends, they will change..

I have to say, I don't think the post was at all snarky or anything. And I do see changes in people after the surgery - it even sounds like you have changed a bit - joined new riding clubs, made new friends. It happens to everyone. You change with the surgery. I have... I now have a few gym friends (which I never had before) and this does cut into time I used to spend with old friends. If this gal is your real buddy - just sit down with her and talk it out. If not, then no great loss.
