How can this happen?

I received an email notification responding to a post I supposedly made in the Daily Atheist Devotional.  I didn't post that comment!!  I've sent a notification to OH but can't figure out how someone can post as if they're me?  I did post a comment stating I didn't post the other comment.  I am a practicing Christian and would never have posted what it shows!

WOW...I didn't even know there was an Atheist Site....they sure wouldn't like all of the Prayers we send up!!!

I don't think many people go to the Atheist site here.  Traditionally atheists aren't joiners.  Someone invited me to a group locally and I said, "I thought the whole point was that WE didn't have to get dressed and go to meetings." 

But, in answer to your comment about prayers, I--for one--think that are a total waste of time and effort EXCEPT that they seem to be something that comforts those who DO pray*.  So I don't begrudge anyone their prayers...I simply get my panties in a bunch when someone insists that I believe what they do and if I don't, I'm BAD.

Yesterday, my mother's doctor made a housecall to her assisted living and when he was leaving, he asked, "Did you have a sacred Easter?'  My sister (who lies) said "Yes."  I said, "I didn't...but I'm your friendly local 'long-haired, commie, hippie, socialist, pinko, atheist *** '  But that's okay, since a whole BUNCH of people on your team are praying for me and if you want to join them it won't  bother me at all."

What could he do?  He laughed and said, "See you later."

*Oh...and I'm pretty sure that there are a LOT more people who say, "I'll pray..." or "I'm praying" for this or that than those who actually DO pray.  And those folks seem to need to be able to say they are doing SOMETHING when life confuses or scares them.  That's okay, too.  As long as they don't stamp a big red A for Atheist on my forehead because I don't believe the same stuff.

It's posted on the Main Forum.  I'm waiting to see what OH says.  I hope they have an answer.

Let us know what you find out.  I wouldnt be very happy about that at all either!

I think someone hacked your account for sure. I saw where you posted to my Good Morning thread and I have the email notification but it still hasn't shown up in the thread itself. That was about 1150 EST today. I hope OH gets to the bottom of this. I saw it once before. A lady on the DS board was accused of making a pot-stirring post--it looked like she made it but is was obvious that she didn't write it. They finally said someone had been able to either make an account that looked like her or used her account to post.

I found out who posted the message.  She was trying to find her post, and found it under my avatar.  OH is looking into it to see what happened.  In the mean time, I've changed my password.
