Hello to all of my Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!
Over the hump day!!! Had my surgeon's visit today and I'm cleared for doing steps etc. (although I've already been doing them). That was a fast 2 weeks!
We got lots of different suggestions for our Protein Drinks yesterday. How about snacks...what's your favorit Protein snack for on the go? I love Jerky because it doesn't slide right down and it's not gone in a split second. Early out when I was on soft foods but I needed to chew my DH suggested jerky and it really worked. I would chew all of the flavor out of it and then spit it out. It's still my go to food when we are on a trip and everyone wants to get a snack when we stop for gas.
HONEYMOON PERIOD EVENTUALLY ENDS FOR EVERYONE...DON'T FALL INTO THE I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT MODE!!!!!!! BAD HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD ENDS and THE POUNDS START CREEPING BACK!!!!!!!

updated!
Yay! So glad you got your mint cookie! My netrition order will arrive today (amaretto drops, just the cheese chips and popped cheese, pb2) as well as my supplement warehouse (4 da vinci syrups, energy shots, pre-work out powders, and samples galore! the second two are also for my DH) and even the amazon order is to delivered today (new CD as well as just teh cheese snack bars! those should be interesting) I'm very excited
Does your weekend come earlier than mine? Today IS Wednesday, right? And has it really been 2 weeks already? my how the time flies!
Snacks: love the Just the Cheese chips (tried some at a friends house, looking forward to their popped cheese and bars) and the cottage cheese/jello salad is really my favorite snack. I've started freezing it over night and letting it thaw in the fridge at wor****il 1030 snack time. Chocolately protein bars can't be kept in the house anymore, they like crack, or candy bars to me. DH and I make a lot of shakes in the evenings (last night was chocolate pb banana in honor of what his mom used tell him a banana split was~ a banana quartered with pb and chocolate on it) and it curbs the ice cream cravings

I thought for sure it was Thursday!! LOL...I'm so glad you caught that but now I'm bummed!!! I guess my 2 weeks aren't until tomorrow since tomorrow is Thurs.
I had a mint cookie drink last night after dinner and then for breakfast this morning....YUM. I have to limit it because of the extra carbs but it is so darn good and refreshing!!
Are all of the snacks you order soy? I had trouble with soy early out giving me cramping but I should give them a try again.
AWESOME Totals!!!!

awwh, i didn't mean to ruin your day! just wanted to make sure I wasn't confused or maybe to congratulate you on having a short work week... I was off yesterday, but reset myself by realizing I wasn't a day behind and my reports would be done in a timely manner
It's so worth the higher carbs, isn't it? yom yom yom. I'm thinking grapefruit and lemonade for my next order, kick back to lower carb, less calories for my fruity ones and sticking to perfect chocolate with syrups or the sake of thrift
the cheese are just cheese, no soy, here's the ingredients on the cheese chips:

Ingredients: Semi-soft Cheese (Milk, Salt, Cheese Cultures, Enzymes), Powdered Cellulose, Other Natural Flavors, Autolyzed Yeast, Maltodextrin. Although I have no issue with soy... except in protein powders, those are too sweet for me! One of my friends told me that too much soy in a person's diet can cause GI distress, gas, cramping, that other thing... so a little a time and spaced out should be okay for someone sensetive Thank you thank you I try real hard :) |

I only stayed bummed for a second.... That's exactly how the soy made me feel with just a small back of the snacks.
I'll have to check out the cheese snacks. I eat cheese at least once a day as a treat. I like to cut it up into little pieces and melt in in the microwave. It gives it that brown around the edge taste.

mmmm, i will have to try that, i always mean to, never do it.
another fun thing (that i haven't mastered is cheat-os)
I found it on low carb friends:
And back to my soy chips, which are definately soy, but at 5 a day, i don't have any issue with them
another fun thing (that i haven't mastered is cheat-os)
I found it on low carb friends:
Ingredients: | 3 egg whites 1/8 tsp cream of tartar A pinch of salt 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (frozen) |
How To Prepare: | Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Put the frozen cheese in a food processor/blender and chop, until it's in tiny little pieces. In a mixing bowl, blend the first three ingredients, at high speed, until whites form stiff peaks. Sprinkle the chopped cheese, on top of the egg whites. Then, with a teaspoon or a rubber spatula, fold the cheese into the egg whites, VERY CAREFULLY, being careful not to disturb the fluffy whites, but thoroughly spread the cheese, throughout. Then, using the handle of a teaspoon not the spoon part), dip tiny little clouds of the mixture, and place on a cookie sheet. It helps to have two spoons...one to scrape the mixture off of the dipping spoon. I would suggest using a sheet of parchment baking paper, to line your pan, but if you don't...spray the pan, very well. Lightly spray the tops of the puffs, with butter flavored cooking spray. Lightly sprinkle grated parmesan cheese, on top of each puff. Then, put another coat of buttery spray, on top of that. Bake at 300 degrees, for 30 to 45 minutes. The longer you can bake them (without them getting too brown), the crispier they will be. For even crispier puffs, turn off the oven, and leave them in the oven for at least 30-minutes. Store in a tightly sealed, air-tight container. ***NOTE: If you have a gas oven, you have an advantage. On my last batch, I turned off the oven and left the cheatos in the oven OVERNIGHT. The heat from the pilot light (overnight), made them VERY crispy. I then put them in an air-tight ziplock, and two days later, they are still crispy. |
Number of Servings: | One Serving - approx. 25 puffs |

good morning! today is going to be a long one with homework but i woke up feeling the best i have in a long time...i haven't been binging on food or alcohol since saturday night and i already feel so great.
i used to buy the just the cheese snacks but it seems like anything crunchy like that is a major trigger for me...so i carry ostrich jerky with me.
b-coffee (0)
s-hb egg and slice of cheese (13)
l-protein shake (27)
s-think thin bar (10)
d-protein shake (36)

What's your major in? You might have mentioned it but I can't remember.
I've never tried ostrich jerky but if I ever see it anywhere I'm going to definitely buy it.
Great Totals!!!!
Good Luck with all of that homework!!!!
