As I slide into month 5 post RNY, I am noticing that there are a few foods that tend to evoke the old crazy behavior.  So I am commtting to my LW friends to let these triggers go right here, right now.  Goodbye to:

-CarbSmart ice cream
-Chocolate calcium chews (yes, calcium chews)
-Parm chips

I invite you to join me in saying goodbye to your top triggers.

Good job Amy....

My list:
All foods lol

Really though, anything that isn't lean protein, eggs, veggies and protein drinks are unfortunately a trigger for me so I pretty much have to stick with those if I want to stay on track, I have been doing this since Sunday and I already feel great...

Good for you!!!!

Early out I had to get rid of wheat thin crackers ....which were on my list of OK things and oddly do not not make me dump....though I seem to dump on everything else!!

It's not a trigger food but I am finding myself getting gas from Smucker's sugar free caramel syrup and I don't want to stop having it. I have it on my salted caramel dessert every night. I put protein powder in it so it's not bad for me and I can have it without the syrup but I don't want to give it up. It's only 1 tsp for pete's sake but I know it's got to go.

 No eating  for entertainment

No  checking the refrigerator  when i walk in the house

Always  before i even think about eating ....  have a glass of water  and /or a  cup of hot herbal tea

Ask myself am I really HUNGRY

Is this really the BEST   food item I  could POSSIBLY be eating right now  ?

Am I chewing thirty times before I swallow  ?

Am I sitting at a TABLE  ( ie  ...not  in a CAR  , before a  COMPUTER  , in front of a TV  or with a  BOOK  ?!  )

Am i giving  the occasion of mealtime the proper respect it deserves ?

Am I waiting the proper thirty minutes afterwards to drink  ( Im usually pretty good with that   ) then  brushing my teeth and having a cup of herbal tea  and / or water ?

Have I taken ALL  my vitamins today so I don't crave ?

Have I  gotten in some serotonin -releasing aerobic  exercise  today again so I don't crave serotonin release  through eating excess carbs or excess  calories ?

Have I made an effort to work  on my  psychological / emotional / environmental issues  that  keep me  in an overeating pattern today  so I can not only  drop  all my excess   weight but also have the best chance of   KEEPING  IT  OFF ?

Finally  have I given thanks  to God  today for giving me this wonderful second chance at life , for making me healthy today and giving me this day  and have I  made the most  of it by  giving  BACK  to society  in making the best use  of the  talents He generously gifted me with.

Thanks for your posts Mini-Me's Mommy, I appreciate your insight. Sometimes I think I should start a list, but I think I'll make sure I just keep coming back to this forum to see all the good things that come out of it.

Your list certainly hits the spot in a lot of instances for me.
