Supposed to only happen once.  If it happens again, they start looking at other possible issues.  So I'm glad to know she is fine and hasn't done it again.

Price, what a scary experience for you!!! Glad that you are feeling better. Your pony sounds like a very good friend. Amazing, how intuitive animals can be.

As far as the aspirin, baby aspirin is considered a NSAID, which is contraindicated with RNY. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon and primary care physician. Are you taking a PPI or acid reducer? If you have to continue with the baby aspirin, you will need to take one of them, to prevent ulcer formation. You will also need to monitor yourself for the signs and symptoms of an ulcer.

I had the sleeve and need to take a couple of baby aspirin/day for my Atrial Fibrillation. My bariatric internist said that I would need to take the PPI or an acid reducer, for as long as I was taking the aspirin.

We are at higher risk for the formation of ulcers due to our surgeries, especially if you have had the RNY.

I do take generic prilosec and the surgeon said maybe to double it.  I argued with them about taking it in the first place but certainly don't want a stroke so.....  I'll talk to my PCP again to see if there are any better alternatives.

WOW Price.   I'm so glad someone noticed that you weren't feeling well and got you to the hospital!!   My DH hates when he has a dizzy spell and they can't figure out why.  I hope your PCP can figure something out.

(((HUGS)))

Wouldn't it be great if it was as simple as postassium being low, or "nothing".  Thanks for the hugs.

Oh, wow, Price, I am so sorry this happened to you. How freakin' scary. My mom has had many TIA's and she did have a heart attack. Definitely talk to your surgeon's and docs about what you can do.

We are here for you and I'm praying for you. I wish I was there to help you do something.  ((hugs))

The neuro said TGA but the paperwork says TIA.  The on line stuff I have looked at doesn't link the two.  Will hopefully get more info from the PCP when I see her.  For now, I feel great, like it never happened.

(((Price))) I hope all this can be straightened out just be getting your potassium up. Did they also check electrolytes? I remember Dee telling me how disoriented she got and thought it was from her faint from reactive hypo but it may have been her low potassium and electrolytes. Swinging lizards for you. Keep us posted, please.
