I WON The Battle of the Wii!!!
After seeing a Wii Fit Plus in action at a girlfriend's house (3 months before surgery), I'd started campaigning for one.
DH, the self-professed, master resident technologist, opted for a PlayStation3 because it also plays high def and blue ray dvd's...
The ONLY exercise programs it had were Zumba and Mel B.'s Work Out. Everything else was sports and gamefighting stuff. I bought the Zumba but never opened it. I spent several days trying to figure out how to work the menus and everything (DH did not think we needed a remote, so I was using the little handheld two-fisted screamin' machine that every little boy can operate with his eyes closed. Needless to say, it was not working for me and I've not been able to get enthused over indoor exercise... much to DH's chagrin.)
I guess I finally pouted enough and sat on my AKK enough to prove my point, and yesterday, with our income tax return, we bought the Wii I wanted in the first place.
After setting it up,he left me to play around with it and through the course of an hour he kept hearing me giggle and hoot and holler. He'd and would come in to see Mii on the screen rolling down the slope in a snowball with ski's sticking out everywhere and I was oblivious to his presence rather than being too embarassed to "exercise" in front of him.
He has admitted it was the right gamebox for ME.
So, I've got my incentive back and as a bonus, I've got a really *****in' HD/BlueRay DVD player with some accessories I need to trade in for a regular remote. ROFL!
Life is gooder!!
P.S. And, even more so because a Cuisinart yogurt/sorbet/icecream maker also made its way into the cart. heh heh Yessssssssssssss!

The playstation motion plus SUX! My friend has it and I will NEVER allow it in my home. As a gaming family we of course have the Wii, Xbox 360 and the PS3. I adore my wii and use it as often as i possibly can, love how I can track my weight on the wii fit. Game you may want to try is Just Dance and Just Dance 2... the kids and I have a BLAST with it, I know you can get used games at your nearest game stop. My next purchase will be Zumba for the wii, I cant wait LOL..... So glad you are enjoying it, bowl a bit your legs WILL hurt tomorrow LOL
The Just Dance games are on my list. But first, since I never opened the PS3 Zumba box at all, I'm going to make Best Buy exchange it for the Nintendo version. The belt you wear around your hips for it to log your motion may not be able to fit me just yet, but by golly it WILL. rofl!
Oh, and since I'm bending over shoveling dirt into containers for a garden... I don't need to bowl for my legs to hurt, thanks! LOL!!
I think I'll leave the PS3 camera secured above the TV, just to make any guests squirm. heh heh heh Or mount it by my doorbell... hmmm... or the gate at the bottom of the ramp. yea, that's a good idea. hahaha

Ruthie, we had the PS3 long before any of the dance/exercise programs for ANY of the game consoles came out...even the Wii, it was just AFTER we got ours that the ones for the Wii came out.
We got ours for the same reason your dh did. Actually I like the PS3 Move, we just don't have enough room for it in our townhouse. And now that I've renovated the china cabinet out of the kitchen into the living room, we REALLY don't have any room left.
Granted, there are more programs for the Wii but we HAD the PS3 already, had it for 2 years prior so it wasn't a brand new purchase, we went with what we had. I suspect if we had gotten one for dance/exercise, it would have been a Wii.

You ROCK Ruthie!! (and you'll rock AND roll) with the Just Dance II game!!
Me and my Mii do the downhill slalom every few days ~~ Mii ends up in a snowball, skis sticking out like toothpicks stuck in a meatball. My Mii is sooooo klutzy. I also looove to get on the segway on the beach and whack moles, and my favorite is rhythm kung fu.
congrats on getting back "in the game." And you gotta take photos of your ice cream recipes!!

I love my Wii! I bought it two years ago (with Wii Fit) and have been loving watching me go from over obese to normal. Even if I gain a little, it still does a happy dance cuz my BMI is finally normal.
Recently bought Just Dance 2 (don't own 1 yet, but 2 lets you add more songs to it to I started there) because all my friends are doing it! Yeah, sounds like I'm just doing it cuz it's popular... but no.... they all are doing it all the time so when I go over to visit with them that's what they wanna do, adn I'm very competitive... I've also discovered its a great work out, I'm using the Just Sweat function, love it.
I am glad you won your battle, enjoy your Wii and your Mii
