I feel like I'm setting myself up to fail!
I know I can't go back and change what I did eat. But the items I did eat I didn't have to eat. I allowed myself to eat them. I'm good at telling myself NO! Tomorrow is a new day. I guess I will just start off new tomorrow!!
Thanks for listening.
If you need to chew on something buy some jerky and chew to your hearts content and then spit it out. It got me through many days of needing to chew on something during those beginning weeks.
I'm not even going to comment on the gold fish.....LOL

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Hang in there......these are some tough weeks but I truly feel that this will help us break some of the dependence we have on food. Plus, getting sick right now on things is something you DO NOT want. Tomorrow is a new day!
Don't know what surgery your OH friend had but unless she was also a sleever, her schedule will be different. Also different surgeons have different plans.
Example, my husband and I both had the DS but different surgeons (LLLLLOOOONNNGGGG story), he was discharged from the hospital on soft foods, I was discharged from the hospital on clear liquids. And yet no difference in how we reacted to the surgery. Just a difference in how our surgeon's did things.
At 10 days out, the goldfish probably won't hurt you but be careful as your tummy is still swollen and anything with a sharp edge can hurt it so chew carefully. Plus they are empty carbs.
The hard candy, well I can't blame you there but think about this...IF it was sugar free, it can give you the runs. Too much of the sugar alcohols can be horrid on your system. Instead of hard candy, try a protein snack. I know it doesn't taste the same but it's better for you. But if you must have the hard candy, limit yourself...
This is a lifetime tool, so you are relearning how to eat, this is NOT a diet, it's now a way of life. Diet implies a beginning and an end...there is no end for this. We have the different phases like the early phase where we lose lots of weight, the middle phase where we slow down, and the end where weight hardly budges and then maintanence where we finally end up and stay by by keeping our head on straight and using what we've learned thru the losing process.
Don't beat yourself up over one day. You are still early out and still learning to use this new tool.

Thanks again all of you. Really means alot to me you took the time to respond to me. I just don't want to mess anything up. I know 15 pounds is good. Its only been 10 days.
Whoever told you that sleevers dump was using the RNY playbook.

30% of sleevers dump??? Where did that information come from? I thought that was about the percentage of people who had RNY's that experienced dumping.
Just get back on track and if you're not sure what to eat, call your surgeon's office and speak with your nutritionist.
Some people are able to get a chewing sensation from chewing on ice or sugar-free popsicles.
Good luck to you!!!
