 1) White Flower  Farm  plan catalogue  , Johnny's  selected seeds ,  Farm  Supply  catalog ,  seed savers  exchange ,  back issues of the Mother Earth news and my bank statements  GRR  !!! Did I mention  taxes ?

oh and  the registry of comparable sales  so I can lodge my  tax appeal  for an empty lot...

2)  well ,  keeping  my grant alive was  a BIG  one ...getting the  30  day extension  granted and  riding out the wave  of  EXTREMELY costly nastiness from the  inspector as a result .  Getting ( finally - after a WEEK !  of wated precious time )  my contractor's  men on the job and actually actively  working  on my house .

Getting my contractor on  board  with the  idea that  maybe the City  is NOT our friend and  that he needs  to get  finished three  weeks before the deadline  so the  inspector has  time to  not show up , require changes AND HE'S  STILL FINISHED  ON TIME which he MUST be in order to get paid  .

Now of course  I have to get another  extension almost certainly
because  the tricky ..d.....inspector required PERMITS  HE should have issued when the job started (  obviously he was planning to  not pay us the grant money ever) ... an he has 60  days to  return them   and until them we cant redo the plumbing ,  redo the electrical  ( yep he required a redo by professionals of all these  things from the street )  or install  the furnace  AT ALL!!!!

OHH  sometimes  I could shoot myself    as if THAT would do any good lol !  they'd all surely get together and kick dirt over me in my grave lol !!!!   And then I couldn't kick back  !   nah  passivity  is  not  for me  ...

3)  my plans for the weekend  are to build  a 75 foot concrete  retaining wall on hub's property  and  fillit with  discarded branches ( we dont have to pay to haul away   RECYLCLING )   and dirt ,  and eventually  make a mulched raised flowerbed  marking the edge of his property .

It will make the property look much larger and more desireable  we hope .....  and visually extend " his "  line from the outside of the deck  now to  the actual boundary  of the woods  and golf  course .

Fun!
-A book on how to parent your out of control teenager
-Challenge; Head Hunger; remembering not to bother to try to feed any emotional 'need' for food.
-Victory; That I put on a pair of recently purchased jeans and they look stupid cause they are too big-I'm down about 14 pounds 2 weeks into the journey.
- Playing with my kids, trying to come up with creative foods- cottage cheese is getting old...and I hate eggs unless they are used in something.  Need to get more protein into my system.Shopping with my afternoon off.

1. Idiot's Guide to Eating Well After WLS (M. Furtado et al).  Ms. Furtado, a registered dietician worked at Johns Hopkins Bariatric Surgery Center when my friend Tracey had HER surgery. Now she is at another COE.  So she has excellent info and experience on WLS eating. Her section on carbs and protein explains why we should have a minimum amount of carbs.

2. Challenges: Getting in enough fluids and exercising indoors .  Victories: Zumba class (60 min) on Wed and Thurs Wii Just Dance (50 min). Tonite more Zumba class!!

3. Continue dogsitting our friends' 4 mo old Newfoundland dog (already nearly 70 lbs). Hopefully the weather will cooperate so Gina can visit here on Sunday so we can tool around and get into trouble somewhere.

1.)  What's the last book you read?
I usually read for pleasure ... Complete "Mind Candy"... no nutritional value, but I love the taste.  I've been on a Regency era romance kick lately.  I'm reading books by Eloisa James.  I think the current one is "Potent Pleasures."

2.)  Victories/Challenges this week?
I actually went shopping.  I'm still struggling with finding pants, but I have some really cute tops.

3.)  Plans for the weekend?
I've got DH committed to giving me 2 hours to work on the garage tomorrow.  We won't be finished, but it will be a start.  My goal is to clean out the garage so we can get a car in it. Saturday night we are going to DH's alumni dinner.  Sunday is laundry day.  I may heat the pool to above 80 and fold loads of laundry on the pool deck.

1.)  What's the last book you read?  Since I work at a public library, I always have a couple of books on hand.  Right now I'm reading David Baldacci's latest Camel Club Book - Hell's Corner.

2.)  Victories/Challenges this week?  I have continued to walk/jog this week - hooray for me!!  Sweets continue to challenge me - I absolutely love them and unless I eat a lot they don't make me sick.

3.)  Plans for the weekend?  My parents are in town for the weekend - headed home from their November - March stay in Florida(snowbirds).  We are going to DGD#1's tonight and DGD#2's tomorrow so it will be another busy weekend.!!

Hope everyone has a great one!!

Linda

1.) What's the last book you read?
I used to read a lot and I miss it but it is pretty hard for me to concentrate. The last book I remember reading was actually re-reading The Basketball Diaries, one of my favorite books. I really want to get a Kindle so I can download books but can't afford it right now.

2.) Victories/Challenges this week?
Looks like I have a hernia, probably from straining from constipation. I managed to go to 3 meetings in the last week. My goal is to get back out into life and doing things I used to do before I got sick. Big challenge is money as always. I finally got out of my cell phone contract with Verizon and switched to Cricket. Sucky service but cheap. I would like to find a cheaper internet service but there aren't a lot of options for broadband. I would get rid of cable and go to satellite and save money but I don't know what to do about the internet. I spend close to $200 a month on my cable/internet/phone bill.
3.) Plans for the weekend?
Not a lot. Hopefully get to another meeting tomorrow. Get some housework done.

1.)  What's the last book you read? Geeze, I don't remember and most of the books I read now are on my kindle app on the iPad, I get quite a few books from Amazon for free. Mostly romance enovels or old classics.

2.)  Victories/Challenges this week? Broke my slowdown...kicked it's butt to the curb. Challenges: stopping long enough to remember to eat.

3.)  Plans for the weekend? Tiling a backsplash and a bathroom floor. Have the tile, just need the wet saw. Spent today getting the SimpleMat in place so all we need to do tomorrow is put the tile up and grout.
