I knew we couldn't do extended release meds-I had to change my antidepressant.  I never even thought about the iron being slow release!  At any rate I am going to switch to the Tender Iron starting tomorrow.

I agree with what folks are saying here. Great advice and info. I would start on Vitalady's plan and schedule ASAP. I'd also do as Tazz and Kelly suggest and take 50K of dry D3 for a few months and retest.

I know 50,000 IU D3 sounds like a TON to many people.  I swear it's not.  Lots of us do it.  It's what it usually takes to get your D up to a decent number when it's that low.  Might make your doctor a bit squirrely, but it really is what works.

Actually my surgeon's office mentioned the 50,000 in passing an my PCP seems to be pretty cool about things.  He's always added any tests I wanted.  And I took the D2 prescription before surgery--but it didn't do a thing, and isn't what I need now!

Yes it seems like a lot, but so be it.

Your docs are on the ball.  My surgeon actually told me to take the 50,000 IU D3 when my D level was 25, but I know some docs kind of freak.  I think with our malabsorption, though, we just need a lot.

Thanks Gina,
I'm following everyone's advice.  I checked out your link  Wow, Vitalady suggests so much more supplementation than my program recommends.  I will definitely need to work up to that many!!  My morning and bedtime routines go really well since I don't get out of bed, or go to sleep until I take my meds.  The afternoon ones have been harder to regulate, especially now that I am not working regularly but I am trying to be more reliable since it is so important.
Day by day..
