Awe Jody, I'm so sorry!!!
When I lost my job (that I loved) 3 years ago I was devastated and but I didn't make near the money you do and I didn't have to worry about insurance so I can't even pretend to know what you are going through. I stayed home and watched my DGD for 2 years (DD paid me) but I missed not working. If you retire you should be able to pick up something that will make up the difference don't you think.

The Post Office sucks. I've seen them put so many long term employees through the wringer in order to save money. I'm glad I only gave them 7 years of my life and am so sorry you've been put in this position. I was really hoping you wouldn't be one of the ones to get the axe.

I was on the phone yesterday with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) and found 2 great ladies to help me with the retirement figuring process. I had some questions regarding how my annuity was going to be figured. I knew asking the question at a seminar wouldn't give me the info I needed/wanted.
Well as of yesterday I'm leaning towards the retirement, BUT - I'm not being hasty in doing anything at this point. There's an information seminar in DC regarding retirement the week I happen to be there for vacation and Tom and I will be going to it.
Tom and I crunched numbers yesterday, and will again this weekend. I think its doable.. but we'll see if an opportunity comes up before then.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I wasn't on my computer at all yesterday, and can't get on from work anymore. I went out last night with a girlfriend and didn't get home until REAL late... we had a great time! Oh and some shopping was involved... LOL...
