Landlord /shysty business partner update

 I hope I'm not being reckless posting this on here  but my  'puter's  pretty securely encoded ....

Anyway  yesterday  I spent the day copying about 1/10th of our almost 10 years of business  records  .   OHH  the blatant, totally  disrespectful   thievery !!  Not only  did  he pay ALL his household bills for ALL  his homes out of our  mutual business account  ... when the total would  go above  15,000 or so, he would simply write himself a check  for  five or  even nine thousand dollars ( just below the IRS limit )  The BEST thing is  every penny that I EvER got is  TOTALLY accounted for because  LOL  he's a METICULOUS record keeper  !!!  so he's  going to have a very hard time explaining this   the CREEP 

 ( while I wasn't paying  attention  because I was  BUSTING my azz every single day for HOURS  taking great care of HIS health, HIs food, His garden ,  making even His nasty  quarters  beautiful all with my hard-earned money    GRRRR  ) the only time I would really notice  is when I would try to reconcile the running total in my  head with the account and it didnt match at all ...  I remember one time it should have been eighty and  it was five thousand ...  another time it should have been over a hundred and twenty thousand ... now when I would kick up a fuss he would simply  bororw some money or transfer some money and make the totals look temporarily jake ... kinda like Bernie  Madoff... then when I was mollified he'd  divert the money into his own name again... or return it to its source . 

He  once again  I think broke into my apartment across the street trying   to find and  destroy   them lol ... ( he did manage to  get the COPIES  once  .. the  originals were  elsewhere more secure thank God ) 

finally  at  5:30  Pm i took what I had and consulted an attorney  ... and it took him about 5  minutes to say  I had a get this -  MILLION DOLLAR CASE  !!!  ( and he's happy to take it on CONTINGENCY  !   )

HUH ?!!  who knew ?   i don't even a TENTH  BELIEVE it - I don't think anything good has ever happened to me in my whole LIFE ... but U know what  ... I deserve reparations  because his stealing sure HAS deprived me  of many many business opportunities and the opportunity to start my own business designing under my own name and multiply my own money. It's definitely worth TRYING for .  And of course its depriving me of any security I  have , any pension plan , any savings  I sacrificed  ( a lot ) for ... 

I Have really worked SO hard building  not just this business  but this  home  ... and  I want to keep it intact  .  Unlike him ...  given half a chance I will be merciful and kind .

You are so brave to stick up for yourself!!

Way to go.  And don't feel stupid, you're dealing with this now.  Make sure the attorney is a good one, and go to town.

Stay calm and continue to make copies of records up until the very last minute you have to do so.  Document, Document, Document... but you know this... and you also know to have the copies & originals separate and in a safe place.  You really are a sharp cookie... but a bit like the rest of us who want to believe the world is inherantly good hearted and honest.  It's okay to finally see the light and start taking the scary steps to protect ourselves and reclaim what is ours.  Our inner child DEPENDS on our loving care, so you do what you have to for "mini" Ava to be safe.

Not even having a garden makes this cheating worth while.  Screw him to the wall.

Your not stoopid and foolish, but smart and brave to find and deal with all of this.

Ava, good for you for sticking up for yourself.
If you can find a way to leave resentment and anger out of the process, you can save yourself heartache and frustration.   Treat the entire process as a business venture, and keep it separate from the rest of your life as much as possible.
