^ ^ Roz has great hair!!!   I knew she was a BIG SEXY HAIR woman!  Love their products.

When I read your post Gina I immediately thought of Lisa Rinna's hair do (not her lips -- her hair!).  So it's a version of Roz's with more cropping on the sides.

Roz,
My legs look so bad I have to wear knee length shorts.  I got a bathing suit at Sears and it has the board shorts and they come to right above my knees.  The top is longer so it covers my stomach. They are Joe Boxer's.

Hi Gina,

No suggestions on hair, but core body work can help with the abdomen. My trainer has me doing planks, pushups (full body), some balance ball work, plyometrics, and many other exercises that engage the core.  Every exercise that we do, engages the core and strengthens the abdomen and back. I am also taking a pilates class once/week, so that adds on to what the trainer has me doing. My abdomen sort of hangs from the excessive skin, but there is muscle starting to form underneath. Core work can help to firm the abdomen, which will also help to strengthen the back. One can get alot of benefit from doing on the ball exercises, including core and back work. In addition, if your abdomen has fat, then aerobic exercise can help to get rid of the fat. I'm still working on it, but it looks better than it did a few months ago, but I have also lost some weight.

I would give the hairdresser one more chance especially if it is someone that you have been using and she knows your hair.  Mine is flat by afternoon too because it is so heavy and thick.

I have the pouch still.  Someone told me running would get rid of it!!  I probably need to find another way.  Sometimes this skin drives me insane and other times I'm ok because no one can see it through my clothes.

To some extent is is inevitable but not as much as you think, however....there is a caveat.

The old lady poochy looking stomach is part of having a hysterectomy too. Add wls on top of it and it's a double whammy. My pcp told me ahead of time that he would do his best to get me a panni as soon as I've been at goal for a year cause he knew I was gonna need it. Mine "dunlapped" over before I started losing weight and it's far worse already.

What's bothering MY self esteem are my WRINKLED KNEES! I knew I would wrinkle in places from losing weight but give me a break, MY KNEES!!!!! Good Lord, at least it could have been further up so I could hide it in shorts.

My hair is not an issue, I gave up  on it LONG ago, If I am busy, I just pull it up in a ponytail and get it out of my way.

I like the look of the hair in the picture and would give your hairdresser another chance.  Having said that, I once had a shorter hair cut that EVERYONE loved, except me.  So I kept listening to everyone and kept getting short styles.  Now I only iisten to me when it comes to my hair.  It's funny to read that you get frustrated when your hair goes flat.  I have the opposite problem and can't stand when it poufs up.

As for the pooch--I'm sure I will always have one but I do see and feel a difference since starting pilates classes.  You really can't do the moves if you don't suck in your gut or core.  The only thing I'm bothered about right now is the wrinkly skin of my bat wings. They are smaller than some I've seen and I really didn't expect to be bothered by them.  At 55 I can't imagine getting plastic surgery so i better learned to appreciate them :)

I'm going through the hair thing, too. It is almost the longest it's ever been and part of me wants to cut it all off real short and the other wants to keep growing it out. It is very thin, even before the WLS hair loss and it can look ok but usually I wear it in a high pony tail or bun. Last year it was even longer but I was so sick at that time and I was going out of town and didn't know how I would take care of it so I had it cut to about the top of my shoulders. It was constantly tangled and I could hardly come it.
Now I use a children's detangler I found at the dollar store and it makes a big difference. Whenever I talk about cutting my hair my boyfriend always says "Just don't cut it too short" but if I cut it that is the point, to make it real short and easy to care for.
As far as the tummy thing, thank God I had a panni after my first WLS. It bounced back real good, even though the part of my stomach over my belly button could use some work. I wouldn't do it even if I could afford it though. I was thinking the other day how I am pretty happy with my body right now. After my first WLS I was obsessed with having plastic surgery and I hated everything, my stomach, my butt, my thighs, my legs. I had my tummy done and I still wasn't happy. I had my breasts made larger and I still wasn't happy. That is when I realized I would never be happy, it would never be good enough. If the skin and fat wasn't there then the scars would be. I am too damn old to worry about it any more.
And now I look at my thighs and they don't seem that bad any more. Certainly not as bad as I remember them being 8 years ago. I don't know if that is because they have improved or my attitude has changed. I can live with it.
All that said, I would get a breast lift if I could. I would get rid of the implants if I could. Now I hate them and I feel like they make me look fat.
My biggest self esteem issue though is my lower eye lids. I have bags under them that I didn't have 3 years ago. I even have a picture of me from Dec. 2007 and my eyes looked great. Being so sick took it's toll on me and my face. I like to think it looks better but I still wish I could get my lower lids done. But then I would want the rest of my face done and where would it end?

Gina you should post a pictues of YOUR hair!  Forward, rear, and BOTH sides.  It will give us all a better idea of what YOUR hair is like.  I have very fine hair with a natural wave that can go flat if I don't use a root lifter and use a roundbrush blowdryer.  I blowdry my hair first and then use a curling iron to smooth out the style a bit.   I also use a voluminzing hairspry like Herbal Essences body envy (orange can).  Maybe your cut is still to heavy.  Is she using a thinning sheers to take off some of the weight?  One thing I've noticed is the color of your hair can make or break the style.  Lets face it you see a cute cut on someone with black hair and then the same cut on someone with blonde hair and it's doesn't work......Maybe you need a color change??

As far as the old lady pooch goes I think it's inevitable for many women.  Even women who extremely fit can have it.  I think as you get older and start to loose the elasticity in your tissues it just happens.  But posture plays a big part too.  Work your core intensively and you should be able to hold it off for longer.
