Hey Ruby, looked up Natural Calm...it helps with 'regularity'??

ETA: I read it on the website...interesting :) I will be stopping by to get some tonight. Also, I should get the mag citrate liquid...and do that tonight and the natural calm starting tomorrow. The website gives suggestions...

THANKS!! Will try TODAY!

Ruby, I will have to check out Natural Calm.  Thanks for the tip.  I did not know that calcium can constipate.  No wonder I am having such difficult epsiodes.  I also use Up-Cal D3 because I cannot handle the horse pills.  Please let us know if the magnesium mix helps.

Today I am doing alright feeling kinda bleh....

It is very hard to describe the symptoms but they never really go away. First symptom is I feel fluffy. Like pms fluffy but its not time for that. Next I feel bruised tender under my left rib cage. (That's always there) Then I feel a tender bruised feeling from top of left side all the way to inside hip. Pain will appear at random but usually after eating in the lower left inside hip area and the pain level can be a 2 or up to 8...but will always be in the same place and always feel the same (burning, stabbing ripping pain). Just the intensity changes.

the 'attacks' are brief but residual dull bruised feeling always there. I would say that I have had only 1 time where I got scared by the pain...otherwise, my threshold is high and I just deal with it.
CT and ultrasound are next tuesday...hopefully they can find something...but in the meantime, I think maybe I should try the miralax? I'm afraid of laxatives...not sure if I should try that...

I am open to any and all suggestions/recommendations.

As always, I went way over in typing...lol. I can never give a brief answer huh...lol

hmmm.... wasn't the suggestion already made to ditch the clinic and get to an ER?  You're a bariatric patient and require special attention to things dealing with digestion and elimination.  I would not wait 6 days if it were me, and I HATE hospitals.  Have you called your Surgeon?  Is he cool with just... uh... waiting???

Please don't wait too long.

Thanks everyone for the moral support and suggestions.  Once I am cleared out I am getting on some sort of regimen cause this sucks!  My surgeon had his nurse tell me to take MORE miralax as well as stool softener and to stop taking the pain medication.  I hadnt taken a pain med in over a week.  I have continued to have loose bowels some today and am now home (this was my first day back at work) and am about to take the miralax again.  I tell you if this is not resolved then something MAJOR has to happen tomorrow.  The nurse said to call her in AM if it is not cleared and they will try to see me.  I wasnt terribly happy with this plan but will try.  Things seem to be moving a little better.  The dr at the urgent care center called me to check on me which was nice (he also works at the bariatric clinic where all of our pre-op was completed).  I am not uncomfortable except when trying to poop.    Wish me luck!!!!

I am also going to try some mineral oil.  Oh joy.

I have to say I will never think about constipation the same.  EVER.

This is the time to be pushy (not double meaning intended). If you are not getting the attention of your surgeon, I suggest ath you insist that the surgeon, not the nurse, calls you. I really hate the idea of you waiting until tomorrow. Please keep us posted.

Thanks Amy...I really thought the miralax was working as i went a bunch but I am still stuck.  I am not sure I can keep doing this.  I am not terribly uncomfortable EXCEPT when I am in the bathrm.  I will call back in AM if this isnt resolved and say they have to do something.....he also needs to make sure I am not getting worse and getting an obstruction.  I am a really good advocate for my patients and this is going to teach me to become better at advocating for myself.  If I had more experience in this I would feel more confident but I think I am impacted.  This is going to sound crass but for ME to want someone to even look at my butt much less do MORE means I am desperate!

Thanks again for the support.  Otherwise I am really starting to feel back to my old self and would like to start progressing into pureed food......one day soon.
