Vitamins + Broke = What to do??
Thank you, thank you, thank you all so much!!
Your advice and links and ideas are so appreciated. I bookmarked this page so I can get started on the sample list.
I know if I couldn't afford anything then I should hold off on the surgery. But my dad was lecturing me because I can't afford the GNC name brand vites and supplements. It's irritating. I told him of course I am going to take care of myself. Why would I get this tool for my health and just screw it up. Anyway... thanks for the suggestion on generics and such.
Again I really thank you all!

Ok, your dad has his priorities wrong if he thinks GNC is top of the line. Do what you can afford in the way of generics BUT pay close attention to protein count and do NOT waste your time on Flintstones anything.
To be honest, Vitalady is expensive until you start comparing stuff she gets that you get and she buys in larger batches and gets bigger discounts and passes those savings to us. Most of what we buy, she can out price us every time. I know, I've tried. The problem is saving up for the free shipping amount. She also has samples of protein powders so you don't get stuck with large tubs you don't like.
One thing tho, please look at the Vitalady list to take for your surgery. I'll come back in a bit and post it later (can't from the iPad). But it's easier to tweak down than up after your first set of post op labs.
I know supplementing is expensive but to be honest, it's a trade off. I've traded off insulin & lipitor & excess food for vitamins. I think I've come out ahead of the game.
