6 month checkup
today was my 6 month with the surgeon and Nut. All went very, very good. The nut was very happy with what I was doing (all but the processed meats, pepperoni, sausage, etc). She thought my recent stall/slow loss was due to the fact that I had started weight training. She said most foks who start weight training gain the first month so the fact that I was losing slower was normal and she thought it would normalize in a few weeks. Of course, since I am getting closer to goal, it will slow anyway.
The surgeon was pleased with my loss and exercise. He cancelled my 9 month appointment, saying call if you need us but that I was doing great. On his scales, with his charts, I am 14 lbs from target. I'm thinking another 15 - 20 lbs would be great. I've lost something like 73% of my excess weight.
The Nut was fine with my 2 shakes a day. She did suggest I add a fish oil suppliment. All my labs were wonderful so no changes needed there.
Then I made a trip to the next door Goodwill. I got 14 items for $36, pretty good. All size 10 pants, small shirts. Some stuff is still a little tight but it will give me some stuff to "grow" into.
All in all, a very good day.

I wonder, if the weight training was the reason for my slow weight loss in January. I started in December, but gradually increased the intensity of the workouts. Whatever, weight training is great for building muscle, which will help to rev up our metabolisms.
You have been working very, very hard and the hard work definitely shows.
