What was the first pureed food you tried?

I am transitioning to pureed soon and am curious what was the first pureed food you tried and did you tolerate it?  What did you like the best during this phase and how long did you wait until you changed over to the next stage?  Also, what did you first eat when you were able to eat "normally"?

I appreciate any suggestions!

I started with stuff that are on a full liquids diet (because my program didn't have that phase). So FAGE yogurt was my first soft food. I also tried cottage cheese and then chili and later one scrambled eggs.

I'm still pre-op so I may not know what I'm talking about. My brother and dad (both had RNY) tried baby food. There is a lot of variety.

Mashed potatoes was the first pureed thing I had.  I ate about three bites and tolerated it just fine.

I did refried beans with a little cheese.....I was craving something warm and savory!  I also did mashed potatoes with a little broth and unflavored protein.  All went down well but I literally did about 3 bites.

First foods were eggs and chili......all were fine but you will not be able to eat much at all! 

I really did not "enjoy" eating until about 2 months.  Eating will be a chore until then!  Keep up the protein shakes!

I think it was a scrambled egg.  I also cooked a pot roast early on and pureed that.  My sister had made pureed chicken soup and roasted chicken for me and those were lifesavers and wonderful. 

I have never had any issue with any food (that I didn't eat too fast or not chew well enough).  Our servings were 1/4c and I was able to eat that much on most days.

I think we were on pureed for 10 days, then slowly transistioned to soft food.

Normally?  I sometimes think I eat pretty normally now, sometimes I realize I still eat way differently from the rest of the world.  I quess I need to know what part of normal you mean.

Scrambled eggs, refried beans with cheese and greek yogurt and to this day it is still my favorite LOL

pureed white chicken chili. A couple teaspoons and it was wonderful.  I ate it for days.
eggplant red roasted pepper puree and cauliflower puree, each with a bit of protein powder added helped me add protein yet have some strongly flavored food for several days.  Very flavorful and hid the protein powder smell.  Homemade from a high-protein recipe book.

tried pureed chicken out of a can with chicken broth....PEeU YUK!!
pureed tuna with mayo and celery salt was ok.

I am eating soft foods occassionally now, and it's tough to each much of anything not pureed thinly. But right now edamame are my favorite soft food since they are high protein and satisfy my desire to chew (even though they're soft)  I can between 1/8 and 1/4 cup, depending on how my sleeve is doing that day.  I can eat about the same amount of scrambled egg.

When all else fails, I default to Fage 0% yogurt with either polaner all fruit and a bit of sweetner, or with pureed fresh strawberries. 10 g of protein in 1/2 cup, and normally I can eat that much. It's not soft food, but sometimes you'll need to more protein than what you're getting in soft food, and you'll want something thicker than a protein drink.

Every surgeon is different but I think I was on puree for a couple of weeks.   I had my surgery Oct. 15th and the weekend before Thanksgiving I was allowed to start eating regular food so I got to enjoy bites of the Thanksgiving dinner I cooked for everyone.

I pureed pretty much anything my family ate.  They said it looked gross but it tasted just fine.

The first food I ate was a scrambled egg that got stuck for 2 days.  The 2nd day I finally made myself throw up and I couldn't believe how many eggs came up.  You would have thought it would have desolved or went down or something.   I still can't tolerate scrambled eggs.  Egg Beaters go down just fine though. 

I never eat mashed potatoes now, but I did at the beginning.  I also ate alot (and still do) ham/bean soup, split pea soup, and laughing cow cheese wedge with 5 saltines.

I pureed black beans with chicken broth and salsa, then strained to remove the bean skins.  Really yummy with melted cheese on top.
