Thanks- I am thrilled to know there is someone out there in about the same place / recent revision / repair.  They had told me if the stoma stretched they would do banding-- so they revised you...I personally think that sounds like a better idea then band.  The band scares me because nothing is every super easy for me. LOL I think its a great idea for others.   Keep in touch- how is ur loss to far...I am at about 13lbs (my official weigh day weekend).

They offered me the option of a Band-over-Bypass, but I elected to have a revised RNY. Why? In a nutshell, I don't believe the numbers are high enough for the BOB to draw conclusions as to its long-term effectiveness. And while things are going well, post-revision, believe you me, I don't want to have to do this again, ever!

(I should add here that these are *my own* opinions. Your mileage may vary, and probably will.)

I'm into the second week of eating soft foods, and to be honest, it's hard getting re-acquainted with a "normal" (read: not stretched) stoma and pouch. Just yesterday, I tried scrambled eggs. They went down hard and came back up quickly. Was I eating too fast, or was my pouch being touchy? I dunno, but boy howdy, I was miserable! Couple that with the fact that I've bounced up and down the scale this whole third week--same two pounds, again and again -- and you'll probably understand when I say that I'm a little bit disheartened. I recognize it as the infamous three-week "stall," and know that this, too, shall pass. Meantime, I need to up my protein & exercise, and put away the scale. :)

Enough about me. How are YOU doing? A 13 pound weight-loss is awesome!

Yes- I kind of regret getting a scale...I did the happy dance when my1 year old decided the last one needed a bath.  But- I have just popped on and off almost daily to see where I am.  I was allowed liquids for 1 week and this week I have been doing soft foods.  I admit- I am not a huge fan of some of the soft foods  (like eggs!) so I had few bites that wonder off menu.  For instance I got soup today for lunch- I couldn't bear chicken salad...so it has potatoes and bacon....I ate a few bites of each but I chewed chewed chewed them.  Last night I had a piece of chicken that wasn't pureed....I chewed that piece (very small****il it was almost nothing- but I darn near brought it up---the pain (like it was stuck) and the watering mouth.  YIKES!

Like I said about the band- I just couldn't think that it would be ideal- what surgery is really.? I have to say my recovery has been easy...other then head hunger.  The physical part has been a breeze.  I have a few scabs that are bothering me, cause I am a wimp and won't bother them.  I think I took 4 pain pills and 2 of them were at night to sleep well-I was hospitalized less then 1 day.  I spend my evening chasing little ones and disciplining teen and the young adult children.     Soon- I plan on returning to the gym but swimming laps is my favorite, but I also like biking and walking. I guess next appointment I will get released to exercise beyond walking.

The dreaded stalls- I remember the frustration well.  I don't think I had one early out because I literally didn't eat until I was about 5 or 6 weeks out the first time.  I had a bunch of complications and every time I got to soft foods I was hospitalized.  This time I know it will be different.    I bet you are doing great too- you sound determined.
