5K -Results with pictures

We jogged/walked the 5K last night.  My time was 42:45 which was a better time per mile than I usually walk.  My normal time is 15 minutes/mile.  I did jog some of it(down hill). 
We were all shocked when we actually won a tropy.  BIL, DH and I got 3rd place in our age categories and SIL got 1st place in her age category - of course we are figuring there were only 3 people in our age groups!!  It was a lot of fun and a great way to finish up their visit with us.  They left this morning and we had so much fun this weekend.  My BIL has lost a good bit of weight also.  We have always had our weight in common and it was so exciting to talk about it on a different level rather than talking about being overweight!!

My niece and I registered for the Peachtree Road Race in July and it is a 10K.  After last night, I really need to get serious if I want to do over 6 miles!!

Thanks Gina.  We did talk about coming to Virginia maybe in the Fall and riding the train into DC.

That is so EXCITING!!!!!   I am so Happy for you......  It doesn't matter if there were only 3 of you..it matters that you did better than your best!!  

You are so tiny and you look so cute next to your DH....

My only goal was to finish so when my time was a better than my normal time, I was thrilled. 

DH decided to walk in a knit shirt and blue jeans so he was really hot when he finished.  We all tried to tell him to wear something cooler, but he would not listen!!

Men can be so stubborn sometimes.  I think it's great that he walks with you.  Can you keep up to him with his long legs?  I can't keep up with DH and I practically have to run most of the time.  He'd say that is a lie....LOL   He says I'm always running now and he can't keep up with me....

That's so funny.  Y'all sound a lot like us.  People used to laugh at us when we walked because he would be so far ahead of me and I'd be huffing and puffing and he wouldn't even be breathing hard.  Well now it is a different story, I'm ahead of him and he is the one huffing and puffing.
I tried to tell him I had to take 3-4 steps for every one step he made!!
