Fiber Bar need input please :)
Found this about 6 mo ago on the main forum and decided to keep it. He said it keeps him regular and does not taste bad, wanted input to see what everyone else thought before I tried it, do you think it would be worth it?
It also appears to be just about what Price makes too with out the egg.
Fiber bar
3 cups dry old fashioned oatmeal
4 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup bran
1/4 cup golden flax seeds
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup milk
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (I have used PB2, but the bars don't stick together too well)
optional:
1/4 cup sesame seeds (Penzeys sells these in one lb bags for a reasonable price)
1/4 cup almonds and/or sunflower seeds
1/4 cup millet
mix together the dry ingredients first
add milk and PB, stir for two minutes
spread mixture out in 9 x 13 pan
sprinkle with Splenda
refrigerate
divide into 8 (you could adjust this too)
approx 325 calories/bar (more if you add nuts)
14 grams protein
10+ grams fiber

Hmmm? I'm not sure the calories would be worth it to me unless it were the magic formula for keeping things moving well. Along with the protein, there are lots of carbs and fat too. Good carbs and fat though. I'm not much of a cook, so that's another reason it probably wouldn't be worth the effort to me.
I don't have the problem of things getting stopped up, but when they slow down I just pop a few colace and it seems to work (and without calories). I would also be surprised if you could eat a whole one. I bet they would be pretty big.
It sounds yummy anyway and could be a meal replacement.

I'll stick with mine. Easier, about the same protein and not much less fiber, a lot less calories.
