I think Fashion bug carries the same pants as Lany Bryant in smaller sizes, i.e red, yellow and Blue right fit line based on the same as the Lane Bryant line...at least they used to. i have not been there in a while but am planning to go this weekend for some cheap jeans. You might want to take a look online  if you do not have one near you, then maybe you could shop on line as you step doen in sizes.
I hope that helps...good luck

Thanks, Sheri! I checked out the website and I think I might try their right fit boot cut when I need to go down a size! I'll have to double check on their return policy, but that was a great idea!

I was just going to say Fashion Bug too!  Their LA Blues in a Rodeo Style has a lower rise, and thinner legs to go with the bigger bottom.   I started wearing them as I grew out of regular sized 22/24's and they fit pretty durn good.  They have them in the whole range, just find the style that fits you best.  Funny that the next size up from a 22/24 changed to a 4 in that particular line... I ended up in 5's and 6's before the growth spurt stopped.  Now I'm back in the 4's and a couple of the 22/24's...  Our local Fashion bug closed or else I'd be looking for 3's, it's such a comfy style for those with getto onion bubble blutts.  LOL!

Thanks, Ruthie! I don't think I have a FB near me, but I can sure shop online! One thing: I do NOT have thin legs by any stretch of the imagination. :P I've always been sturdy, even when I was 130lbs! I doubt I will ever see light between my thighs, since I never saw light when I was thin. :D

So glad to hear you say that. When I was an anorexic 115 pounds, I thought I was fat because my thighs touched. My friend who wears the same size is baffled because we can't wear the same clothes. She isn't as "sturdy" as I am. Good luck with the search and let us know what works.

I started shopping at Kohl's on the advice of other LWers, and it is a godsend. Cheap, lots of different cuts, and the pants look professional. You have to check the seams but the price is right when you cannot find what you need at the thrifts. Happy hunting!

Abby, you and I have the same butt (figuratively).  When I was smaller ( but still ROUND donachano?) I found plus size Liz Claiborne jeans that fit my rear and thighs, but still looked nice.  No more LC stores, but JCPenney is the exclusive LC carrier.

HELLO go to a BLACK LADIES STORE !!!!!!!!

most of us flat -bottomed white chix would KILL to have Ur enviable problem by the way lol!!!

I recommend Dr. Jay's if U can find one or the Rainbow shoppes ....... both are REALLY cheap , really hip and Ull be AMAZED at the great styles Ul be able to buy for next to NOTHING all of which will fit and FLATTER ur body type .

Brands to try First : House of Dereon .... created by Beyonce for her bodytype - jeans about 26 bucks retail less on sale

Apple Bottoms

but just about anything U can find there will work ..

Ure gonna fall in LOVE !!! I would also strongly recommend .... buying the QUietest , black on black embroidered jeans .... some dark indigo ones ..and some regular denim ones and thats it maybe one pair of really funky ones if U absolutely must have them for a night out at a casino or something .

U truly dont want to look like a white girl trying to look black . Thats not a good look.

So : don't pour yourself into the tightest jeans U can get into , rather fit them white grrl style as in slightlly loosely .... get the quietest styles U can find in the store in the darkest colors ( read elegant and wearable ) ... and U will have everyone asking U WHERE did U find those amazingly flattering 300 dollar slightly lycrad designer jeans ? ( after U spent 20 bux on sale ) Try it !!

Weighing in a little late here, but for what it's worth, Lee's jeans now carry some dark wash, stretch fabric jeans that fit me perfectly--and I'm built like you are: small(ish) waist, bigger butt and thick thighs. I've not liked Lee jeans in the past, but these are cut differently, with a fashionable waist & figure-flattering flare at the bottom. Like boot cut, almost. For less than $30 at Penney's, they're worth trying, anyway....

 Abby,
Also try FashionBug, in the store or online.  They sell the Right Fit pants just like Lane Bryant but they also have them in regular sizes.  They do fit a bit smaller though so you may want to try them on first.  I wear the blue (smaller waist, bigger butt) which is always the hardest to find in Lane Bryant.  I bought some nice dress pants online from FashionBug for when I was teaching.  Good luck  and remember it's a nice problem to have.
