One month post-op appt.
Got a clean bill of health from the Bariatrician, Dietician, and Surgeon. So far so good.
Oh, and I told the Bariatrician I wanted to learn and become pro-active regarding my labwork and he said he'd be glad to order whatever labs I want as long as I use the results sensibly and don't go wacko on him. ROFL. That was reeeeeally good coming from him since he's pretty durn intense usually. haha We agreed to take a look at my list at my 3 month appt and get the lab slip set up for the 6 month appt. I'm pretty jazzed he was so compliant.
LOL
My surgeon pulled out a teeny tiny stitch that had been peepin' out ever since day one. That was a fringe benefit of the visit. heh heh He's so darn cute. He can pull my stitches any time he'd like.

Great report! Now, we might have to work on what his definition of "wacko" is. lol Why medical types can't understand our wanting optimal labs vice average labs is beyond me. Keep up the good work!

Gina, I told him I had two lists to show him. One was labs I wanted to have added every time we did labs, and the other was labs I wanted done just once a year. He said, "As long as you don't ask me to do that fingernails on a chalkboard thing of getting your blood type, we should be fine." I told him I knew my blood type and he said it didn't matter because they always have to type you fresh if they are going to give you blood or else give you O negative, which is why he hates it when a patient asks for a perfectly useless test. I didn't think it would be wise to tell him they might be wanting to try the "Eat for your Blood Type" diets. heh heh
Now is to find a PCP that will get on board too.
