Gina, Vitalady or other Vitamin vets,

I have posted my 3 month labs which I had drawn at LabCorp.  I am thinking I need to up my Iron from 5 capsules to 6.  Otherwise, I am pleased with the results.  Am I off base?

Thank you all in advance and advice is appreciated.

What's the LabCorp range on Ferritin? It looks high to me at 465. You might want to ask about that with your doc before you add more iron supplement.  How much and what kind of iron are you taking now?

I think you might be able to take a couple of days less of B12.

What the LabCorp range for B1?

Your protein and albumin are very nice, and so are your AST and ALT.

Could there be more labs coming? I see a couple that are missing but on your list.

Vitamin D3 isn't bad at all.

Vitamin A will likely come up some more if you're Vitalady's plan.

I am following Vitalady's DS plan. I am presently taking (5) Tender Iron capsules daily.

The LabCorp range for Vitamin B1 are 66.6 - 200.0 nmol/L

That was all my PCP and Dr. Pomp ordered. I was just too lazy to delete the rows from my spreadsheet.

Is the ferritin in range or high? Ferritin is your stored iron level. Taking more Tender iron might make it go even higher and not affect your iron serum.

The Ferritin was high. The LabCorp reference range for Ferritin was 28 - 365 ng/dL. Sorry I overlooked that in my earlier response.

No problem. Talk to your docs about that one and don't add any more iron just yet.

I high ferritin like that many times is due to severe inflamation in your body.  Your surgery was 3 months ago, so I doubt it is from that, the inflamation should be gone by now.  Have you had any other surgeries since then?  Do you have any types of severe arthritic condtions?  I have a ferritin in the same range as you and it is due to major surgeries I had.  I would wait a few months and get your ferritin rechecked to see if it is going down.  It can't be hemocromotosis since your iron level is on the low side and also the ferritin would higher, more like 600 or 700 or more.

Your TSH is on the very low end of normal.  Do you take synthroid?  If so, make sure it is checked fairly often to make sure it doesn't go any lower. If it does go any lower, then you are taking too much synthroid.  If you aren't taking any synthroid then you are running close to being hyperthyroid.  Again it needs to be monitored.  The range is .3-3.00

There is nothing wrong with a B12 that high but it can be a little lower and still be considered ideal.  SO, if you want, you can cut your dose slightly but not by alot.

Your magnesium is on the low end of normal
