Good Morning. OT entirely

I have 1 sister.  I don't think its a political thing with us and our parents, but more of a religious thing.  My Mom uses religion when she feels like it to support her beliefs, but then she'll turn around and say something totally off the wall that's opposite of what she just said...

I have one slightly younger brother who is to the right of Rush Limbaugh. Our dad is to the left of... I dunno, who's the most left of the Kennedys at this point? Or Nancy Pelosi?

I'm basically a Libertarian who moves to the right fiscally and the left socially, so I take pot-shots at both of them.

Our maternal grandmother was raised in DC by her grandparents (he was in the House, a Republican from Chicago, if you can believe that!), and family dinners always had huge political discussions. They still do, although Dad's getting older and more confused now, so I'm working to keep he and brother from getting into so many knock-down-drag-outs. Neither one listens to the other, they just try to score points.

I love politics - the manipulation and systems - and I don't trust a single politician.

Not sure about political...I'm not very politically diverse myself.  I do vote.  My sister doesn't, my brother never did!

I am NOTHING like my brother & sister!!!  I always say I'm the "good" child.  I was a fairly normal kid and teenager (ok, so I got prego at 15).  Never really got into trouble, not with the police or anything like that.  Wasn't into drugs or drinking.  Met my husband, bought a house, got married, had my son....15 yrs later here I am!  Pretty boring life!  NOW, my sister was always "hollywood".  Always partying and dressing fancy and make up!  She moved to Fla at age 18 and stayed down there for Many yrs.  She was into the drug scene in HS.  She always dabbled in the drugs.  She married a loser (no one in the family liked him), she had her son (prego on wedding day), he beat her shortly after they were married about 6 months (we think he did this prior, she won't admit it), separated before the yr anniversary.  She moved to Pa (to be closer to family....even though her friends Always came first).  She got into the Drug Scene REAL bad.....blew through $100K in about 4 months!  6 yrs later....she has NOTHING!  Nothing that she moved back home with......maybe some clothes.  All her furniture, car, etc... is Gone!!  She was in drug rehab a couple of yrs ago, so I guess she is trying.  I don't talk to her much, because I don't have much respect for her.  I don't agree with her lifestyle, especially since she is dragging a kid through it! 
Now my brother....HEAVY into DRUGS from age 13!  Joined the Navy, did ok for the 4 yrs in there.  Came home, got back into drugs.  He has/had very little standards.  As long as he had a vehicle (didn't care what shape), cigs, drugs and a place to sleep each night (someones couch or even his car), he was happy!!  His life, so be it.  He was only hurting himself (no wife or kids)!  And because of his lifestyle, he is incarcerated in a Fed prison until Jan of next year!!  Guns & drugs!!  Hoping he straightens out when he gets out, but only time will tell!!! 

So back to me....I'm the good child!  I'm the one that is there when something happens or is needed with my parents!  But my mom is an enabler, so I sometimes anymore keep a bit of a distance.  Obviously she doesn't see it, enablers never do!   But Gina, you are right.....amazing how siblings are soo different!  I don't believe it is in "nurturing", I think a lot of it is in the genes!
