Any of you ever wonder how it's even remotely possible that you and your siblings were raised in the same household at nearly the same time? I read through Facebook every morning and it just amazes me what my brothers' political views are. lol  How is it even possible that we came from the same gene pool?  I guess when they rebelled they just kept on going further and further away from my dad's belief system. Or maybe, they embraced my mom's views and just took them a lot further. I don't know, but it's kind of funny how siblings can be so different.

Now my boys are pretty similar as far as I know. We all are pretty independent in our views, sometimes leaning more liberal and sometimes leaning more conservative, but never buying the BS that the news portrays or the online rantings of activists.

Got any interesting sibling or birth order stories?

Boy can I relate to that.  We have a pack in my family to never bring up politics or religion around my brothers family.  It does seem odd that growing up in the same family, we could be so different.  My sister and I, on the other hand, hold very similar views.  My brother is the middle child.  Go figure.

Yes! I wonder on a daily basis, my sisters are CLUELESS, they dont even VOTE!
When they need to know something they call ME!
My father on the other hand, I have no clue, he and I can not talk about politics at all, I just dont want to go there.

What also makes me shake my head, I am the youngest of the 3 girls and yet I am the oldest. It took 30 years for DS#1 to get her sh*t together and DS#2, there is no hope for her at all....
It is amazing we are in the same gene pool

Politically my sister and I are very similar (I think) but in almost every other way NO.  Tact, social skills, caring about others, respect, etc. different!  Everyone I know who meets her says it's amazing I came out of the same family. Weird!  The funny thing is that my sister is very smart, has really good taste and lots of talent, she just doesn't see past herself.

My only sibling is 8.5 years older than I am.  He and I share similar political views.  We've never had a disagreement about candidates etc.  We each have only one son.

My political views mesh perfectly with Zach.  I raised him to be a good left leaner.  :)

Boy can I ever relate...my sister and I are so polar opposites that I wonder how we could even have been raised in the same household.

This is so funny Gina.  We always say my brother must have been raised in a different house!!  Even the way he feels about how he was raised is so different from how it really was.    We NEVER talk about politics around my brother.  Sometimes my kids like to bring it up when we are all together just to get him all bent out of shape.  We are all pretty conservative southerners - some of us are becoming a little more liberal as we age.

My kids both hold the same political views.

Politically my sister and I are the same....

Personality traits -- she is my Mother reincarnated... and I am my Father.  It's fun to watch!

I'm the oldest of 3 with 2 younger brothers. My relationship with my brothers is one of the saddest aspects of my life. I remember them as babies and how I loved them so much.

In adulthood they have made choices that are far away from the life I want to live. I don't communicate much with them, and we don't have much to communicate about.

I grew up thinking we would be together for birthdays and holidays, and we have none of that. For anyone that has some of this, you are blessed.
