I love the apple pecan w/ grilled chicken.  I am still trying to limit my eating out because I don't want to go back to my old ways where I ate out every meal.  I just have not planned out this week very well yet.

Would someone call us and let us know how you are doing so we can let everyone know???  If you want my cell, let me know and I'll PM it to you.

I scheduled my gb surgery as soon as I could after it was diagnosised.  I had lost 60 lbs then and was in my 40s and evidently, weight loss and 40s is a big time for gb issues.

I agree with the sun.  Boy am I tried of rain.  At least it isn't snow like so many are having.

ham, squash casserole  10g
decaf protein coffee  26

Hi Roz.  I lost my gallbladder back in '92 after an intense Optifast diet.  I had heard some surgeon used to routinely take the gallbladder during WLS surgery, but some have stopped.

Edamame is a soybean.  If you order it at the chinese restaurant it comes in a pod like peas.  The ones we bought at the grocery store were already de-podded.  Boiled them, drained and rinsed and put some salt on them - yummy.  Good protein.

B - 3 scoops protein in coffee
L - leftover beef stew
S - small bag of chips and some small tootsie rolls
S - had a reactive hypoglycemic episode because of above, so I ate some chocolate and peanut butter crackers.  HATE it when it happens when I don't expect it and I'm not home
D - some pork steak cooked on the grill and beets and a little edamame
S - a couple beers...

I ate popcorn last night.  Haven't had that in AGES.. and man - did I PAY.  at in my tummy like a weight when I went to bed... ugh...

Vits:  took them when I got home.  Didnt\'t have them put together
Water:  a little low

Roz,
I hope the surgery goes well!!
As I predicted, my carbs intake was high yesterday..it's just an estimate but I ate 3 total spinach pies.. I should have added one more Protein shake last night to give myself more Protein, but I just couldn't eat/drink anything ..I just couldn't.  As you said though Roz, this is a way of life and I will eat spinach pies and meat pies again so I just have to learn to work around it.  FYI. I had one after the first baking..to taste if it was good..OH YES!!  Then one for Lunch at around 3pm and then one for dinner.. I worked VERY hard yesterday, we cooked, cleaned, rolled dough, my back aches and legs hurt from al the work, so I know I burned off a lot..plus I did do my three miles of walking on the threadmill before all that..so although my caloric intake was high.. well..it will be sometimes... I just don't want it to be that high ALL the time..

So talk to me about spinach pies. I love spinach quiche and make it crustless. Is it like that?

Are you spacing your calcuim out? I think we don't absorb more than about 500 at a time.

Were you the one who posted about Broccoli Souffle? If so, I took that recipe and made my own version of a spinach pie (not sure if has anything to do with hers either, but they are very tasty and leftovers are lunch today) and I thought I'd share :)

LC Turkey, Spinach, Parmesan, Ranch Mini-Quiches

1 cup cottage cheese (I use 1%)

4 large eggs (i use the equivalent liquid egg whites)

5 oz italian blend cheese (mozzarella/parmesan)

10 oz frozen spinach, cooked

8 oz ground turkey, cooked

1/2 cup parmesan cheese (the kind in the green canister)

1/2 pkt ranch dry seasoning mix

Mix all ingredients together and portion into mini cupcake tins. Makes 44 if you fill them up. Bake at 375 until crispy on the edges or until set, whichever you prefer. Pop em out and eat

1 mini quiche: 27 calories, 1.4 gms fat, 0.4 carbs, 3.3 protein

Ranch/parm joined recipe from leftover chicken ranch parm batter from last night. gave it an extra kick

I take all my vitamins in the morning..or else I will not take them.
I do try to eat mainly Protein and some vegetables..my snacks are the Chobani yogurts and my last blood tests came out good. I needed to add iron, I've always been a bit anemic and Vitamin D.  I take a pill ..the right kind , once a week.  So I hope I'm doing okay.

My Spinach pies are this recipe..I do cut out most of the crust but the dough is so yummy!!
These are the ingredients

Basic Dough
1 pkg. dry yeast or 1 yeast cake 2 1/2 c warm water 8 cups of flour 1 tspm salt 1/4 c oil

Filling
2 lbs fresh spinach chopped 1 bunch of green onions chopped 1 med onion chopped
1/4c olive oil  3/4 cup lemon duice  salt, pepper, and allspice to taste and dry mint
