MENUS AND MILES TUES. MARCH 15th
Morning Everyone!!! I had my Surgeon appt. yesterday and my gall bladder comes out on Thursday. I keep second guessing myself, and then I feel a little soreness coming on in my upper tummy as a reminder. I'm so afraid to go on one of our cheer trips we have planned and being in pain again. I'm probably going to have to miss this weekends comp which is a bummer because my 2 DGD's are competing. Will see...maybe I'll be up to it or maybe I'll borrow a wheelchair from somebody and make DH push me around....LOL

Good morning to you as well! Sorry to hear of your gall bladder pain. I think i had one attack a couple weeks prior to RNY (felt like a kidney stone only much higher up?) and when I came out of my RNY surgery, the doc told me that my gall bladder looked iffy so he took it while he was in there so he wouldn't have to go back later.
For me today RNY somewhere between loss and maintenance:
B: Syntrax Matrix Chocolate Shake with SF Hazelnut Syrup 23g protein
S1: 1/2 Premier Nutrition Double Chocolate Crunch Bar, 1-100 cal snack bag almonds 18g protein
L: 3 slices 98% FF Sliced Turkey lunch meat, 1 stick colby jack cheese, 5 BBQ soy crisps 22g protein
S2: My special jello salad: 9 g protein
D: Mandarin Orange Chick'n, steamed broccoli with soy sauce 21g protein
S3: 1/2 scoop Syntrax Natural Nectar Fruit Punch 12g protein, maybe some SF jell-o if I need the sensation of eating (add 1 g protein if so)
Total: Calories: 1037, Fat: 34, Carbs: 65, Protein: 103
totals include all my supplements (I still use the chewables), crystal light, and benefiber
I regret the almonds, felt really gluttonous eating them. Maybe need to go back to the 1/2 bar 1/2 shake routine so I don't feel so hungry by the time snack 1 rolls around... Suggestions?
Curves work out before work :)

If I had known that the chances of losing your gall bladder in the future was high I would have discussed this with my Surgeon when I had my RNY. It's the worse pain I think I have ever experienced.
Have you tried the new Matrix Chocolate Mint Cookie....YUM!

OMG I love that stuff! I have a 5 lb bag of it (as well as the perfect chocolate). It was scheduled for the am shake but I bought the SF hazelnut syrup over the weekend and am currently obsessed with that instead. Oh the decisions! Also can'****er down the mint cookie like I do the chocolate, it's perfect with 8 oz of water, and if I do 1/2 for one meal and half for a snack then that is such a tease! Whereas the PC I can do 20 oz bottle of water with a scoop of powder and a dollop of syrup and it's perfect and longer lasting. Oh the indecision that plauges my life! LOL. Also a 20 cal difference (MC is higher).
I DO love making it in the blender for evening snacks and it's almost like ice cream... mmmmm Mint Cookie.... may have to re-evaluate S3 today, you are evil! We'll see how much we get the 2 y/o to play outside tonight before I make a decision on the calorie change
I didn't know we had such a high risk of losing it. During our seminar the surgeon mentioned that he does a couple extra things if needed while in there. Such as if the gall bladder looks bad, he takes it, and for lap banders he will fix something about a stomach that jumps? not sure what exactly it was since I didn't go LB i didn't pay much attention... terrible aren't I?
I hope you feel better and get the care you need

When you use the blender, do you use water? I tried making a choc. shake last night and ended up dumping it down the drain. I haven't tried the hazelnut flavoring. I have the gingerbread, german choc. cake, and toasted marshmellow and they all seem to taste the same.

yes, i always use water in my shakes, otherwise they are too sweet. sometimes i add an ounce of milk if they get too thin. Lots of ice and up to 3 scoops of powder since I never know how much I am going to get in...
mmm german chocolate.... I'm holding out for amaretto myself.
Taste like alcohol? Yeah, I get that, but i just tell my tongue to shut up and make my brain believe we are getting something special

You are so adorable!
Apparently every December we have our holiday support group gathering that is more of a party than anything else. The first year I didn't stay for it (it was post info seminar and I was just over loaded) this year I did. We were told to bring a dish to share with the recipe and to clarify which stage we were at.
I made mock-a-foni
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/mockafoni_cheese.html
minus the green onions, I have an allergy. Everyone loves this stuff, it's insanity.
Someone else brought in jell-o salad. I lost the recipe card, so I had to change it up a bit... but here's what I do (fruit and gelatin flavor may vary):
1- 24 oz carton cottage cheese (I use 1%)
1- regular sized tub whipped topping (I use generic Cool Whip Lite), thawed
1- regular size jell-o packet, unprepared (recipe called for orange)
1 can crushed pinapple, drained very well
1 can mandarin oranges, drained very well
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 cup slivered almonds
Take thawed whipped topping and mix in gelatin packet, scoop into whatever container you plan to keep this in (it makes A LOT so I use half-size chafing dish disposable pans)
Add cottage cheese, mix well.
Add fruit, nuts, and coconuts, mix it up some more.
Smooth it out, cover and keep in fridge. Let set for an hour or two for tastiest consistency.
Note: This last batch I used Raspberry gelatin, frozen raspberries/blackberries/blueberries/strawberrie/black cherries, used about 1 cup, blended. Upped the nuts and coconut a smidgeon and added unflavored protein powder too (DH hasn't noticed yet) Next batch I plan to use strawberry/banana gelatin with bananas and pineapple (maybe the mandarins if DH allows). It's easy to make, it makes a lot, everyone loves it. You can switch out to any kind of nut you want or leave them out if you can't handle them yet. The 9 gms is for the traditional recipe, i didn't calculate the powder additive, I am a slacker
I post my experiments on my OH blog too if you guys are interested in the wackiness of my kitchen endeavors
