xp Skin changes, muscle maturity, not getting sloppy!
TAKING PICTURES OF YOURSELF ALONG THE WAY! ESPECIALLY PICTURES WITH SKIN SHOWING WILL SHOW YOU YOUR PROGRESS BETTER THAN YOU CAN *REMEMBER* !!
Newbs, take pictures of you, measure yourself!! Not newbs, yall too! For me (for those who do not know) plastic surgery was never going to be an option unless it was medically necessary. Period. The end. So I knew I would have to lift to give my extra skin as nice a frame to drape on as possible :}
I found a picture from 03/2010 that had been on one of my lost profiles and is gone from anywhere else, but luckily, I have a book of before and afters that I have with before and afters from..oh.. 1997. :}
This is to encourage you, your skin is going to change, and if you are building muscles remember that they mature. Also know that you probably will not build muscle with the same ease in different places of your body. My shoulders/back/arms build up relatively easy, but my hams and bootay? Not so much. My quads and calves build up easily also.
Here is an interesting/scary? thing - see when I had to stop lifting between 11/2009 and 03/2010? Can you see how much muscle mass I lost? OY!
Getting sloppy with exercise, like getting sloppy with eating is insidious, like boiling frogs, it creeps up on you, the longer you are out of practice the easier it is to make excuses.
So you can see my bottom has some bumflaps and the back of my thighs are not all tight and musckley, but I am working on it! And here is the thing, THIS IS GOING TO TAKE TIME! And its okay. I am learning about me as I go, I am DOCUMENTING things so I can SEE my progress, so if I ever fell into the "I gained 5 pounds, and I feel as bad as I did at 267 pounds" that I can have a good dose of reality, you know? I might feel those 5 pounds and not feel as great as I did 5 pounds ago, but come on, stop with the drama and be realistic and LOOK AT HOW FAR I HAVE COME!!
I encourage yall to do the same, somehow DOCUMENT your journeys in a way that your twisted torturous mind cannot tell you "you are just the same now as you were then" Because you are not.
And I would encourage us to find a way to document our journey, so we can see if we are getting sloppy with some of the structure that was so helpful to us before!
THIS JOURNEY AINT EVER GOING TO BE OVER UNTIL I BREATHE MY LAST!!
Here's to being a science experiment of one and all of us being a science experiment and sharing what we learn!
I am thankful for yall and am glad to have yall to share my journey with!

Your post is so timely for me. I logically know that I am much smaller, but I still feel like that fat girl. I look at my clothes in disbelief, like I cant get these jeans on, and on they go, and I dont even have to suck it in to zip them up. Some big disconnect with my brain/body connection.
I love moving my body now. I can do things in yoga and pilates that I could not do in september. I am stronger, but there are times I feel like, I cant do that!
But I guess this is part of my journey that I need to work through, and you are in my path for this very reason. Thanks!!

You are so welcome.
The person who thinks this journey is only about the food they put in their mouth sure has some huge surprises coming, huh?
One of my goals was to become joyfully mobile, because I was mostly begrudgingly mobile because everything hurt all the time, so much sitting, standing, moving, sleeping, everything made me hurt!
You are so much stronger than you even almost know!

Great documemtation!
I've gotten very sloppy on my exercise - and its showing... I need to get my head back into the game.
Thanks for sharing - I think its just what some of us (Me!) needed to hear and see!
