first goal met

I thought it was going to happen today.  Stepped on the scales 140.8 appeared.  I half expected confitte and balloons to appear from a house with only me and the dogs in it.  6 months and 2 days from surgery.

However, it doesn't signal the end, or the beginning of maintainance.  When I set 140 as a goal, I don't think I really thought I would even get there.  I was thinking I had been happy at 135 and could maintain it and I had at least 5 lbs of loose skin.  So 140.

But I am 4'10.5" and wear a 12p bottom and S/M top and still have a long way to a normal BMI.

So today, and tomorrow, and all of the near future, I will continue to do what I have been doing.  Keep on keeping on.  Until my Dr, body and I decide this is where we go from loss to maintain.  And I am really ok with that, very happy with how I am eating and don't feel deprived at all.

So here's to the day.  Have a good one.

Congratulations Price.  I know you're feeling so much better.

I did the same thing. The first time my doc asked me what my goal weight was, I hadn't even thought hard about it. I blurted out 135 because it seemed attainable. Later I realized that was still overweight for me, and I've since revised to a goal of 120.

You're right. A healthy BMI is where we need to be, and that's what I'm shooting for.

Lovely.  It's kind of great that this victory was reached on a day that you were by yourself.  Because the path to get there was based on effort YOU had to put forth.  You are the best and only person who can truly appreciate the result, and celebrate it in the most fitting fashion (imaginary confetti and balloons).

Interesting that your goal is not "the goal", so that way, the journey continues, until... well forever.  I think that may be the perspective I need to adopt, that way I don't feel time pressure, deadlines, number pressure etc.

Congratulations.    Go play with them ponies.

I am so happy for you Price!  I have been reading your posts since the beginning and have been so impressed with you and your loss.  I know that I havent set a goal weight nor has my surgeon....I figure this will be established on this journey.  I pray mine occurs likes yours, relatively smoothly with sharing of successes and struggles.

Congrats!!!!

Thanks everyone.  You guys are a large part of why it has been so "easy".  Support makes it happen.  Being a rule follower helps.  Here's to the rest of our journeys, and lives.

Price....that's AWESOME!!!!!  I'm so glad I got to join in your journey!!!!

I didn't know we were about the same height.  I get measured anywhere from 4'10 to 4'11.  It depends on which office scale I'm on.  One doctor says I shrunk and another said I grew....LOL  With your height you could get into the 100's.  I feel great between 109 and 112.
