Lesson learned

I had the craziest non-stop day at work. I didn't get breakfast or lunch until 4 pm due to lack of planning and then lack of time. Barely got time to drink. After 13 hours, I realized I hadn't even pee'd. In the past, I would make up lots of lost time by sucking back 6 glasses of iced tea and a nice hearty dinner. Definitely NOT AN OPTION anymore. No room for food to make up for the lack of calories (and protein) and fluids all day.

At least, tomorrow is another day and I will plan better and move forward and not look back.

Welcome to the herd.  It is something we have all done, then thought what the heck?????  We do get better about planning, most of the time, but it is a never ending issue.  I will think I'm doing ok, then have a mind fart and not plan and not get in what I need to.  Hopefully, I will continue to get better and so will you.
As I move further from surgery and feel pretty normal, sometimes I forget I'm not.

Good plan! Take it day by day!  I have good days and bad (no matter how hard I plan!)  We just do the best we can....

Lately, I've gotten behind on my vitamins during the day and I find myself wolfing them down at 11:00pm before bed...UGH!

Hang in there...you are doing GREAT!!!

You know, I finally started packing my meals into small containers and just carrying my cooler into work with me. My alarm goes off when it's time to eat, and I eat - even during meetings. My big boss supports it, so even though the intermediate bosses don't really like it, the option is to schedule around my eating or have me (discreetly whenever possible!) munching as I work. So far they'd rather have me munch.

I also keep a stash of protein bars at each location I typically work through, as well as one in my glasses case in my purse for a just-in-case. That way, if for some reason I'm really not able to get at what I packed (or if I didn't pack and then life just got in the way), I still have something I can do.

But it took me months to figure that system out!

lady, i am WITH you.  I fear returning to my hectic crazy work life before I figure out life with Saoirse Silver Sleeve.

I am going to take a short trip with my hub before I go back to work, just cause I need to work out the logistics of traveling for work.  Last thing I need to do is end up at a remote location without the foods and things I need to take care of my post-WLS self......
