One month ago I was sleeved....

So it's a month today, I was sleeved Feb 10, 2011.  Down 17.1 lbs, and finding more energy everyday.

I've totally dropped the self talk of discust with my eating and myself.   It use to be a daily thing, to go over and over in my head all the bad food decisions that I had made and really hate myself for it.  Then repent, and swear I would do better the next day (which I seldom did).   It's really nice to be free of that, at least for today.

I am excited every morning to see what the scale might say.  Some days I'm up 1/2  to a full pound and that is puzzling to me because I'm eating 700 to 800 calories but I know that my sodium varies from day to day so I don't make too much of it.  Can't seem to stop weighing daily.  Do you weigh daily, weekly, bi-monthly?

I asked myself this morning....What am I soothing myself with, now that bulky, sugary, fatty, food is not an option?  This is hard to answer.  I am taking a hot shower everynight and cranking up the heating blanket on the bed and slidding in (It's cold here in the mid-west still).  I'm sleeping 9 hours a night (record for me).  Not sure if this is all surgery, recovery, related or just comforting.

Anyway, just wanted to share this part of my journey.

Highest Weight 200, Surgery weight 190, current weight 173, goal weight 140 I think.

Congrats babeee!!!  You're 5 days ahead of my and it's always nice to see folks slightly ahead of me in my journey.

I weighed myself daily, but that stopped as of today, cause i'm in a stall and it's driving me batty.  So I'm taking Liz's advice and weighing again on SUNDAY.  I haven't moved within 1/4 lb for a week.

I've soothed myself with a massage, reflexology, a manicure and pedicure, and protein-laced lattes from Starbucks.  Also reading a good book while curled up on the sofa with the wood stove roaring merrily, watching the activity in my bird feeders (awaiting the hummers, and where ARE the bluebirds, darnit!!), and most importantly, working in my gardens, which are pretty extensive. I cannot wait til I can take a hot bath in our jetted tub, but that's not til next TUESDAY, since I still have one incision that isn't quite healed.

I can eat about 4 tablespoon of puree, less if it's thick. I was afraid of how I would deal with my sugar addiction post-surgery, and have found that sweet foods nauseate me.  YEAH! ! !

Thanks for posting. I can't wait to hear more of your journey down the road of happy destiny.  You're just ahead of me, around the next bend.

I am an every day weigher, but even when I was heavy the number on the scale never really bothered me.  I use it as a tool to steer me in the right direction.

Do you post your menus on one of the menu sites like dailyplate.com or fitday.com?  Post your daily menu on Menus and Miles and maybe someone will have a suggestion.  Your body is probably just adjusting to your new way of eating.

I weigh daily.  I would love to not be so addicted to the scale but I am.  However, it doesn't bother me and I don't count anything my #, not parts of a #.

I sleep 8-9 hrs a night still and love it.

My treats are protein hot chocolate and chocolate protein pudding.  Non food treats are hot baths, exercise, a trip to the thrift store for new clothes.
