They have changed my surgery date and it is a week from today.  Yikes!! I am starting to get a little nervous!!

Hubby and I are going in tomorrow for the pre-op meeeting with the surgeon to see what is actually going to happen (RNY) and then more liquids only until next Wednesday.  The one that I am happy for is that after the surgery I will be able to have something other than liquids....well, at least after a few weeks. Today is day 8 of liquids only  and I have only broke down  only once and had a few bites of egg salad on Saturday.  It will be so weird to try and eat that first time---whenever that will be---after surgery.

I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I just can't imagine what I may look like without these chubby cheeks! (referring to the ones on my face, but I guess I can't wait for both sets to be smaller!!)

Hang tough, Amy, and eat something if you start to get the shakes. Peanut butter on a cracker or cheese on a cracker. Don't get too weak before surgery.

MD has me on the Optifit for two weeks pre-surgery.  I also try to drink a lot of water...but I'm still at maybe 600 calories a day.  I stopped working out thsi week as I am lacking a bit of energy but I am still working full time until my surgery date. I'm down almost six pounds in a week, so something must be working!

You are too funny girl.  Loved the "Cheeks" comment.  I am sorry that they had to postpone by a couple more days.  Just think by then I will have had my surgery and I can tell you all about it. LOL  You are going to do awesome.

Sounds like things are moving right along.  You will be fine and have a great surgery.  It's the beginning of a fantastic journey.

You're already on the loser's bench.

The liquid diet weeks before surgery went by very slowly for me compared to the two weeks of liquids post surgery.  My first food was greek yogurt, if you call that food.  I had to do 2 weeks of pureed following my 2 weeks of liquids post op.  The first food I actually chewed, was ground turkey.  Funny, but I had a hard time recalling them and they seemed so important at the time.

It's been one month for me and I'm glad to say that the surgery is cake.  Who on this board said, go in and turn everything over to the experts... let them take care of you.  It was really awesome and nothing like I had feared it would be.  They'll give you tea, boullion, popsicles, jello, and bottled water.  Ask for some one ounce measuring cups so you can drink an ounce of something every 15 minutes.  Between the drinks, walk up and down the hallway and watch any discomfort from CO2 gas just disappear.  I did a lot of 'shoulder rolls' to loosen up the gas that settled in my back muscles when I napped.  It's really really way easier than we'd expected... no pain from inside really... a little at the incision points... just the aching from gas that needs to be worked out of your system.  Sip, walk, rest... :-)

Can't wait to see you on the loser's bench!

Don't be nervous!  Be excited!  Your day will be here before you know it.....

Your surgery date will rank up there with Birthdays, Anniversary, etc.  It's a NEW start!

The days after surgery move a little slow and there is a small "adjustment" period but then time flies by and all of sudden you'll be a SKINNY, ACTIVE, HEALTHY person!!!  Get ready!!!
