update and question
I am six months out today with VGS. I've gone from 204 lbs the night before surgery to 153 lbs. I went from size 20 pant to a size 8. A 2X top to a size medium. I feel great. I have trouble working exercise in - not something I enjoy. My question is how many calories should I be eating at this point.
THanks,
Val

I am almost 6 months out from RNY. My calories end up being in 700 range generally, carbs under 30, protein around 100. We were told not to count anything but protein but my counter does it all. I do exercise, Curves a few times a week and driving my ponies.

Congratulations on doing so well Val! It's nice to see you back here.
I've read in several places that we should keep our calories between 600-800 during the losing stage. I think that's what Dr. Cirangle recommends and he probably does the most Sleeves around. Carbs under 40 and protein over 80?
I'm finding at one year out that it's more difficult to stay at 800 and my day seems to venture into the 900's regularly. I'd say keep it low now if you can and get down to your goal.

I'm about 6 months out and the dietitician recommended last week that I eat between 800-850 cal/day, which should enable me to lose about 0.5-1lb/week, based upon the level of exercise that I do. I am just a few lbs from goal, so if I had more to lose, I would keep it between 750-800 cal/day. I don't know how tall you are, or how much exercise that you get, so that might make a difference. I am a real shorty at 4'11." I generally try to keep my carbs around 40, but some days, it does go upwards to 50. I have had steady weight loss for the past 6 months, no major stalls or plateaus lasting more than 1-1.5 weeks.
