Found some willpower today

I went to the mall to buy a 2# box of SEES chocolate for one of our office workers who is being promoted.  He really CAN use the calories.  He had told us we could get this for him for Valentines Day since he didn't have a girlfriend, so we decided to give him this as a going away present.

The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted a sample and held it out for me.

I said  OH NO THANK YOU.  I CAN'T EAT CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so proud of myself.  It's been a long time since I turned down chocolate and had decided this morning that I was not having any more chocolate --except in my protein bar and protein powder--as anything sweet and chocolate is such a trigger food for me.

Good for you!!!

I wish I could say I would refuse it.  I do like my chocolate protein, SF syrups and protein bars but real chocolate is a great treat.

I had a trick back when I was anorexic for years to get people to stop offering me food (not that I'm suggesting you employ my anorexic-insanity), but I would tell people that I was a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant.  That way, everyone knew I wasn't going to eat the cake and ice cream and chocolate and tacos.  There was no question of it!  ....it worked for a few years anyway

WTG Lin!  I used to walk into See's, just to get the sample.  I never bought anything because I was always on a diet, but I sure did love the sample.  I'm really proud of you for saying no.  I'm trying to exercise that muscle all the time as well and it does get stronger with practice.

In WW, they have a saying.  No Thank You, Maybe Later.  I have the bumper sticker on my fridge.  People are always much happier when I say that, than when I say NO!  Woof Woof Woof!  :)

Thanks for the tip Lee.  I like that saying No Thank You, Mabe Later.  I think  I'll be using that.
