I fly pretty often . I have never had a problem finding food in airports ... ( I do have a problem stopping myself from eating when im not hungry out of BOREDOM though)
I eat the insides of chicken wraps - after taking a chitosan because that dressing is NOT fat free
I eat salads with meat minus the dressing ( unless its fat free ) ( now ill be looking at the carbs too)
they very often have spring rolls made with just fresh veggies , a very thin wonton wrap and a shrimp ... in a vinegary soy dipping sauce
I have eaten fat free greek yogurt , fruit cups , hummus and cut up vegetables even .... in most airports
in a desperate situation though Ill get 2 breast s from KFC and ditch ALL the skin , blot ALL the fat off with copious napkins and then use hot sauce / ketchup ( this was before low carbing ... but at least its fat free )
if I'm going NUTS Ill choose to have a tiny red wine with my meal rather than make weird food justifications ( or just eat too much ) because my mind is looking for exactly THAT relaxation ... and thats only a coupla hundred fat free ( and good-for-you) calories .
I never , ever , and I mean EVER get on a plane without a sandwich ( or meaty salad ) and a drink ... because I don't sit with hunger well and I like to be in control of when I eat and what I eat .
you don't have to get fat in airports !
What I actually DO with my time is I have the people I travel with watch my luggage and I WALK ..I use my I phone as an I pod ( i usually am carrying earbuds in my bag ) and I bop along .in my platform shoes ( I ALWAYS wear comfortable shoes - I'm a new yorker ! lol ) ...
I check out what's selling in the jewelry concession stands and what the price points are ... ( work related ) and I walk for MILES and often HOURS ...
It makes people happy to see me ... theyre always smiling at me .. I guess that makes me an extrovert in that situation...

Thank you, my friends, for all of the support and great suggestions. What a treasure trove of strategies for travel! I still have a jumpy pouch so I need to think about the tried and true options. I can start with my trip to Seattle tomorrow!
I am happy to report that the scale forgave my slip. Thank you, body!
