Wow...getting closer to the end of another week. How are you all doing? Been very busy at work and getting lots done...

Here are a few more cardio tips:

Tip #1 - Do your cardio AFTER your weight session as in the step above. While this won't be ideal, it allows your body to use glycogen for short term fuel for the weights and potentially fat as a fuel source.

Tip #2 - Engage in post-workout nutrition (protein and carbs) after your weight training session. While you probably won't burn as much fat, you won't risk burning off as much muscle either.

The reason your body burns muscle is that it costs a lot to maintain it (metabolically speaking). In that case, make sure you can support the muscle by not overtraining and engaging in proper nutrition.

Those two simple concepts will go a long way in helping you to preserve muscle when you have a short rest period between a weight training session and a cardiovascular workout.

 I got dressed to run but so darn cold !  ( but still proud that i got dressed   it wasn't easy lol ) .. so I rowed instead  and then  did backwards rows for the triceps (  hard ! )  .. some baby pushups and stretches  .....and pullups  


my shoulders feel awesome !    so great to finally  get back to making exercise a priority and I'm SOOO  grateful i still look good  in my Xsmall  running clothes

I went to the gym this AM..... did 40 min on the treadmill and 20 min of weights.   I need to keep this habit up.  Its soooo hard to get back into the swing of things once you let yourself get away from it for a few days.  Keep movin' & groovin' LWs!  Cindy

Good day here.  I started with Curves curcuit then this afternoon, I drove both ponies.  The wind was really cold although the temp should have been fine.  Needed more clothes.

36 degrees, and the garden is still wet, so I can't haul any topsoil around....
So I walked down our driveway hill, up the neighborhood hill, around my adopted parents house, back down the neighborhood hill, and back up my driveway.  About .6 mile for my first day walking.  Oh, and I had both the hellhounds, with Juno on the leash.  In full disclosure, I must admit that Juno practically dragged me up the hills. She wouldn't let me stop, so I should start calling her my personal 4 legged furry trainer.

Howdy,

30 min light treadmill walk

60 min Cardio Kickboxing (Okay so I can only do the low impact version but it is still exercising.)

Tonight was a double workout night--TKD and then kettlebells. :) I am super bummed, though, because I think I am really losing a lot of muscle. :( I can't lift the same weights I used to, even after surgery.
