I am NO LONGER OBESE!!! (BMI is 29.9 today)

When I was 3 weeks out, I couldn't even eat/drink 500 cal/day, because I was so sick. I had complications and spent two weeks in the hospital. After discharge at week 5, my intake was very low, but I gradually worked my way up. As you can see from my ticker, I was a lightweight and lost 33 lbs pre-op. For the past few months, I have eaten 600-850 cal/day. For the past two months, it has been like 700-850 cal/day. I have not exercised 3 hours/day, but 3-5 times/week, whi*****ludes 2 hour sessions/week with a trainer and a pilates class. Then, I add in, some more cardio. Walking, shopping, taking the stairs, and anything that keeps you moving, all figure into the daily caloric burn. You do have to exercise, but not 3 hours/day.

I consider myself successful and reached a normal BMI, a couple of weeks ago, which was about 5.5 months out.  I am still working on the last several pounds, but I don't have any concern that I won't be able to reach it. I have my 6 month appointment tomorrow, so I'll see what the bariatric internist has to say about my weight loss. I consider my rate of weight loss to be satisfactory and I am 57 years old.

Everyone has a different metabolism, which figures into the speed of weight loss and age can also be a factor.

You will get to your goal

No more 'O' word.  Funny, it looks so much worse when you capitalize it, so much larger, and now you're so much smaller, never to see 'O' again.

Bravo, instead of 'O'

Yeah, it does, doesn't it. It also looks horrid on doctor's notes to see "50 something, morbidly obese (or obese) caucasian female". Well, they can NO longer write that!!! LOL.

Thanks

Liz
