I can't believe U guys stay under 20 grams of carbs a DAY !! theres 18 grams of carbs in my morning flisntstones chewables ALONE !! And thas just six chewable gummy bears ( the calcium chews are 6 carbs APIECE !!! )

fruit is like ,,VERBOTEN ...

and I'm eating a nasty empty lemon sugar free jello pudding because it has six carbs a serving ( made without milk which also makes it awful ) ..in lieu of YOGURT which has 17 !! even in a tiny size aspartame sweetened cup !!

OH MY !

vegetable SOUP ..one of fatfree and filling my mainstays is also like 20 grams at least a serving .... and I usually eat at least three servings according to the package .

popcorn.... again VERBOTEN

I bet U .. the cheese sauce to make broccoli and cheese in the package of macaroni and cheese mix - also too high ? so whats left besides meat and more meat ? ( salad ) ( water )

Oh and the MOST surprising thing - sugar free chewing gum - that I used to innocently chew and spit out " to whiten my teeth " by the three - pack before I went to jobs LITERALLY .... turns out to have 3 grams of carbs in TWO tiny little chiclets !! LOL !! 18 servings in ONE package supposedly ! HA ! so in other words I was basically chewing a baked potato or TWO .....

OK I think its high time to check out some low carb recipes

Ava, Fage 0 has 9 grams of carbs per cup of 20 grams of protein.  Try that instead of the other brands.

Also, instead of that sugar free pudding which does nothing for you, try Bodytech Dutch Chocolate Protein Pudding from Vitamin Shoppe.  145 calories/25 protein.  I mix with 40 calorie/2 carb per cup unsweetened Almond Breeze.  It makes a great breakfast.  Very filling.  Yum, I'm going to have it this morning!

I had to switch away from gummy multi because of the carbs.  I am using Rainbow Light 50+ mini tabs.  It has CoQ10, probiotics etc right in the multi.

My body and I are still enemies, but I've got it under control for the time being, but that could change. What a battle!

Oy Vey Gina!  You have done so well in both losing and maintaining.  I'm really saddened to read that your body and you are still enemies.  That said, you are definitely winning the battle!!!  You go girl.  You're an inspiration to all of us LW's!

Lee, you are so in tune with your body.

I think my food malabsorption window is closing now at 18 months out.  I found the last few weeks that eating the same things I had been eating led to going up on the scales.  Of course I must admit that some of the things I was eating were not good things.

I took a step back and really looked at what I was doing and started eliminating things that I knew I should not be eating anyway.

I loved your saying about the food party in your mouth.  I have found that if I eat something that I can have and it is something that I like I might want more so if I go and brush my teeth as soon as I finish my alloted serving, it helps to get the taste out of my mouth and then out of my mind.

I am also adding back my walking since it is still daylight when I get off work now.  I did not do all of this to gain this weight back.  I know I have got to stay on top of this and not let 1-2 pounds lead to 5-10 pounds.

You are going to get to where you want to because you are so determined.  Good luck.

Linda - I know EXACTLY where you're at!  Last spring I could eat virtually anything then it was like a wall came down and the weight started creeping.  Its a rude awakening... and I knew I was pushing my luck then...

Glad you figured it out  and know what to do!

Jody, you're such an inspiration.  You've done so great in your recovery.  I know that things are really up in the air for you right now with the move and all and how tough it must be to get your routine for food and vitamins set up.  I'm cheering for you to find your perfect balance in your new situation.  I bet it's really hard to keep your focus when your partner isn't necessarily eating in the best way for you.

Linda, you've done so beautifully.  Hurray on the willingness to recognize that your window may be closing and the need to look at what works and what doesn't.  You're right, you didn't come this far and work this hard to let even a couple of pounds sneak back onto your beautiful body.

YAY on getting in the walking again.  I wasn't able to exercise for several months after hurting my back in October.  Now that I'm exercising again, I feel like things are really turning around for me.  Daylight savings time is in 2 weeks so we'll have even more evening available to exercise!

 Lee,

I think you are eating way too FEW calories per day. You need to eat enough to keep your metabolism stable and efficient. At one year out, I was eating about 1200 calories per day and still consistently losing weight. Maybe you should start slowly increasing your food intake and see what happens. It's just a thought, but 800 calories is practically starvation mode.

I am thinking positive thoughts and saying a prayer for you right now! I hope it turns out well for you!

Hugs,

Hi Liz, thanks for the great reply.  I think you're right about the calories but it's a slippery slope for me.  Yesterday I did raise my calories to 1200 and was up a pound this morning.  Maybe I just need to absorb that pound as I exercise harder now that I'm able to again.  Maybe I'll give it a try for a couple of weeks and see what happens.  Since I'm not eating many carbs, the added calories would be protein which I've been low on for awhile now.

I love those positive thought!!  Thank you so much.  :)
