Welcome! I'm a pre-op so I don't have a lot of advice. Maybe start getting some protein powders/shakes that you can have on hand afterward. I've heard a million times that the more protein you get in, the better.

I wish you all the luck in the world. It sounds like you've been through hell and back with your pouch, the debbil (I like that!) and the feelings that come along with all of that. You deserve a second chance, just as we all do.

Hugs and welcome to the board, I love it here!

Hi Kelly_hope! Love your name and all that it implies!

I've got oodles of protein powder on hand--our clinic requires us to purchase it before surgery. Good thing, as I doubt I'll feel like hitting the stores (or online sites) immediately afterward. And one of the things I've learned is how important protein is to healing, and to weight loss progress. I hope to keep that at the forefront of my mind. :)

I appreciate your sending good luck my way,a nd also grace. I believe we all deserve second (third, fourth, etc.) chances, as long as we're learning lessons along the way. I've discovered so much about myself and this WL journey in the process...

Another thought -
I would also recommend finding a chewable supplements that you can tolerate. I did better with the chewable at first than the tablets or capsules.

That's an excellent thought! Our surgeon requires us to buy them before surgery, which seems like a very smart idea.

Hi  I am glad you made it.  This is a great group of people.  Very supportive.
I am so glad I didn't have to do any pre op diet or anything.  I really didn't pig out much.  I actually wanted to eat more but I was so sick at the time.  My last supper was a prime rib dinner and I actually ate the same one last Thursday at the same place, without the bread and potatos.
I look forward to hearing about your journey.  I know you will do great.

Hi and welcome to the LW Board.

Good luck on your surgery this Thursday.

Did you do protein drinks after your first surgery?  Check out the Menus and Miles post each day.  It really helps a lot of us with accountability and we get great ideas for different foods.

Be sure to let us know how everything goes.

Hi lerkhart! Thanks for making me feel welcome here, and for wishing me good luck on your surgery. Yes, I was required to do protein drinks the first time 'round, as with this time. So count on me to be checking out the Menus and Miles post every day! Can't wait 'til I'm eating regular foods again (sans refined carbs, of course, lol).
