I think finding the way our bodies work best and working with that will always be best for us, granted, sometimes folks have a problem finding peace with the way their bodies work, cuz sometimes they wish for a different way, but peace sure is nice.

Me?  I eat the way you typically warn folks against eating, I eat higher fat, moderate protein, and lower carb, it just is how my body runs best.  Its not so I can eat sticks of butter or make frankenfood deserts that mimic before surgery, but it honestly keeps my body fuller longer, and running best, especially in the case of making/keeping muscle mass on me.  My endurance without excessive carbs is great, and I am sluggish and sloggy for days after I have my anything goes meal, and can tell when my body is running on its proper "mix" again after a few days.

Me?  I cant afford the option of getting fat cells sucked away.  Eating fresh AND getting in water is always a good thing.

And too, for me "dieting" isnt about a deprivation thing, its coming to adult terms with HOW my body needs fueling for its best performance, performance being elimination, use of food for energy, etcetera.  When folks ask about my "strict" diet, I laugh because its just such a change in my attitude, it doesnt feel strict because that's not my WHY I do it (like to me, I dont do it because I have to, I do it because it works and because what someone else might call excessive, that I now call "reasonable" and it keeps me safe in a lot of different ways).

My diet (diet being "what I eat 90% of my life) seems abundant because of all that it affords me when I eat that way.

Peace because I dont have that chatter in my head, trying to find ways to "fit" foods into my nutritional macros that only cause physical cravings for MROEMOREMORE!!!

Even blood sugars complete with no cravings cuz I am crashing from my 2 hours ago trial of squeezing something that doesnt process optimally in my body.

Constant energy all thru my day without slumps.  My day starts between 3 and 4 in the morning and I am in bed by 9:00, most all days without the benefit of a nap. My energy isnt as consistent when I try and fit things in my food day that are carb spikey, oatmeal, even Ezekiel bread, honestly.

Anyway, I guess what I am really trying to say is, we are blessed here with a bunch of folks who do this differently and the beautiful thing is, you can get feedback on how and why everyone else does their thing, but man oh man the peace that comes with realizing how you do best, and then gracing your body with 90% optimal nutrition as your body understands it best!

Good luck finding the key and having peace about what you find, if indeed its not what you would 'druther!

Love the optimal body thoughts.  I too do best when I'm eating low carb/higher fat as it keeps me full and runs my body well.  I always know when I've pounded too many nuts or done something that isn't optimal because my body immediately lets me know by slowing down to spend all it's energy to process the food.  Yesterday I had an ounce of macadamia nuts and was slow for the rest of the day.  Still having to balance that party in my mouth with what makes me run best.  Sometimes the party wins, but less and less often which is kudos to me for being teachable.

I'm drawn less and less towards the carbs.  I think that for me, it's knowing that I have to put them in my tracker, and knowing that I gain, not lose when I have them.

Thanks for the feedback about finding what works for us Mz. BrandiFantabulousness!
