6 mo check up and I hate the Doctors scale

You know the first thing they do is set you on the scale and see where you are at, well my wii fit plus and the scale at his office no longer agree with each other :(
Mine says 145 his said 149, 4 pound difference to me is horrible but it will be ok.
TOM decided to visit since I quit my BC pills so I am sure there is ALOT of water retention, I am not really worried too much about it. He disagreed with me about my pills causing my stall and I attempted to reason with that arragant butthead but it did not work. I have ALWAYS gained massive weight on BC, did not matter what kind, on depo I put on 40 is 3 months! Anyway I brushed him off about that, he fussed at me for not excercising enough ( this I am guilty of) and took a walk last night to start back up ...  said my labs looked good but would not give me a copy, gonna have to see if a "friend" can get them for me.
He asked about my eating and I told him the truth about dense meats and fish and  them not sitting well with me. He wanted details and I told him my stomach just hurts. I had small stomach problems before surgery and they have just progressed. I am NOT worried about this at all.
Next was the pain in my right side, he did schedule an ultrasound for next week to look at it.  Supposed to go back in 3 months unless he needs to remove the gall bladder, then of course alot sooner. Anyway, still think he is an a$$, but I have no choice but to use him.... I am off to soccer now, Everyone Have an amazing day!

Stacey, there's approx 4 lb difference in my surgeons scale compared to mine at home also.   It bothered me at first but I just let it go now.  My scale at home is the one I use the most, so thats the one I go by.   Have a good day at soccer.   Cindy

There's always a difference on mine, but then i weigh first thing in the morning nekked.... I figure 4lbs for food, fluids and clothes is about par.

Isn't it frustrating when a Dr discounts what you have to say, especially when you KNOW what you're talking about?  you did right in just letting it go...

Hope they can figure out your problems.  Good luck with soccer!

There is always about 4 to 5 pounds difference for me at home and at the Dr., so I just expect it now.  I can't understand him not giving you a copy of your labs.  That is your test and you have the right to the results.  I hope everything goes well with the ultrasound.

Hey Stacey, write a letter requesting your labs.  They can't legally deny you.  I love that Kaiser posts my labs on my personal website there so that I can view them as they come in.

My home scale is spot on with both Kaiser and Weigh****chers, so I know it's accurate.  Of course i'm always up 2-3 at WW because I weight at home naked in the morning and i weigh at 6pm at WW.  I checked the accuracy of my home scale to Kaiser on surgery morning and I was a couple ounces off to account for the gown.

The scale is just a number and you're still your fabulous self, regardless.  Kudos for taking that walk.  You'll be amazed how much better you'll feel if you build up a routine.

My doctor's scales are 4 pounds higher than mine and when I mentioned it to the nurse she said they deduct 5 pounds for clothing.  Love my nurse!  Also, they cannot deny your labs so call the nurse and request they send them to you.

I'm with every one else on doctor's scales.  Now I make sure to weigh myself at home before i go so I don't panic when their's is different.  I use my home scale to keep a record.  As for the labs, you (and/or your insurance)paid for them and you are entitled to them.  In theory the dr can charge a fee to make copies, but mine never do.
