I am so sorry to hear about your fear of water. It sounds very frightening. Can you use a recumbent bike? Those are supposed to be good for back problems, but I don't know, if it would be helpful for hip pain. I see rowing machines in the gym. Would that be possible? I hope your surgeon has some words of wisdom for you. Take Care.

I have nothing really to add except to reitterate what has already been posted, go back to basics. Start with your cottage cheese (measuring everything) greek yogurt and attempt to avoid the chips and popcorn.
Slowly use the weights and even walking up to 14 minutes is more than nothing, as they say, something is better than nothing. Maybe when it is nice and pretty take a small walk around the neighborhood, anything to get you moving. Good Luck and keep us posted on how it all goes.

Welcome to the LW Board.  You can get this back under control.  It does sound like you still have restriction with your tool.

It is so hard to stop the bad carbs and other foods once you start them.  I have some of the same issues, but am not gaining yet.  Do you have a NUT you can meet with or a therapists.  I am a stress eater  and it is so hard to stop even when the stress is gone.

I would suggest keeping a food diary of everything that you eat and drink.  Keep up with your total protein, carbs and fat.  Post of Roz's Menus and Miles everyday for accountability.    Are you drinking with your meals?  Do you still do protein drinks?

You might want to try an eliptical machine - it is not nearly as hard on the knees, but might bother your hip.  Treadmills used to really bother my hip and knees.  They are much better since I lost weight.  How about somewhere like Curves, there machines have resistance, but not too much weights on them.

Good luck to you and let us know what your surgeon suggests for you.

Thanks for all of your advice..I am using treadmill so far that is the only thing that doesent hurt my hip to bad..and as for curves they won't let me join..guess I am too high of a risk for them..I will start with a food diary and protein today..and keep up the treadmill and see how it goes..I would really like to do this on my on rather than have revision..my surgeon scheduled me for a scope to see if tummy has stretched..his opinion from talking to me that is has not stretched a whole lot..but if it has he said lap band could be used..The next two weeks before my scope I am going to work hard myself to see if my tool is still good..I am starting this very morning..thank your for caring enough to post..good luck to you..and if you gain any thing loose it before it becomes more..I should have..

A few things   that really helped me get the snack monster under control  are   1 )  not drinking with my meals  but drinking just BEFORE  and making sure i got 8 glasses of water through the day

2)  starting my day with  protein tea  which really helps curb my appetite  and  even having a protein coffee  in the aftrenoon  as  a snack

3) when I  do snack its always  fat free  .  There  are  fat free  chips  there  is  air popped popcorn . It makes a  HUGE difference  at the end of the day regain wise  find .   Even  when i bake  its fatfree .

4) I try to  eat vegetables  and meals properly  ratherthan skipping them   ...  then  I find i want snacks a lot less .

5)  I post what I  eat

6)  Exercise

7)  Overeaters Anonymous

happygal,
As a newbie, i have no suggestions.
As a LW member, I can affirm what others have posted.  There are enough folks in the world to beat you up.  Stay your best cheerleader.  You've taken the first step.  Find the next easiest step to take (from the suggestions folks have made) and make that step a daily routine.

god bless and keep posting.
